Patent number: 10350519Abstract: A device for filtering a plastic melt, including a housing and a filter pin which is axially and/or radially movable therein. In a working position of the filter pin, plastic melt passes from an inlet channel, through a filtering mechanism, which is detachably fastened to the filter pin, to an outlet channel. In a filter change position of the filter pin, the filtering mechanism is freely accessible for replacing the filtering mechanism, and wherein at least one drainage channel is formed in the filter pin. In a start-up position of the filter pin, one end of the at least one drainage channel is in fluid connection with the at least one inlet channel in order to receive the plastic melt that is fed through the at least one inlet channel and to output the plastic melt at another end of the at least one drainage channel.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2015Date of Patent: July 16, 2019Assignee: Maag Automatik GmbHInventors: Harald Pohl, Markus Steinmann

Publication number: 20160016346Abstract: A method for controlling a melt-processing installation, wherein the installation has a melt-feed device, a filtering device, and a melt-processing device. Optionally, a melt pump can be used in addition to, or in lieu of, the melt-feed device. A maximum achievable rate of volume change per unit time of a volumetric feed of the melt-feed device and/or of the melt pump is determined, a maximum volume deviation value of the volumetric feed per unit time to the melt-processing device is determined, and a volume change in the filtering device between the melt-feed device and/or the melt pump and the melt-processing device is set such that a resulting rate of volume change of the filtering device is less than, equal to, or slightly larger than the maximum achievable rate of volume change of the melt-feed device and/or of the melt pump so that the maximum volume deviation value is not exceeded.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2015Publication date: January 21, 2016Inventors: Christian Lebert, Harald Pohl

Publication number: 20150014238Abstract: A device for filtering a thermoplastic melt, comprising a housing having at least one fluid feed channel and at least one fluid discharge channel and having at least two bores. The bores are in fluid communication with the fluid feed channel and the fluid discharge channel, and each houses a displaceable bolt provided with a filter unit having an inflow side and an outflow side. Each displaceable bolt can be moved at least between a filtering position and a back-flushing position. In a filling position, in which fluid flows from the outflow side of the filter unit to a storage cavity formed in the bore by the movement of the displaceable bolt. When the displaceable bolt moves into the back-flushing position, the fluid then again flows through the filter unit to the at least one back-flushing channel and thus escapes from the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2014Publication date: January 15, 2015Inventor: Harald Pohl

Publication number: 20080217255Abstract: Two methods for filtering a fluid, an apparatus and a filter apparatus for performing the method are described. The fluid to be filtered is passed through at least one filter, where the flow of fluid is throttled. At least one actual value of a working parameter of the fluid is measured; this actual value is compared with a predetermined set value and at least one actuating variable is generated as a function of at least one actual value-set deviation. The degree of throttling is then varied as a function of this actuating variable.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2005Publication date: September 11, 2008Inventor: Harald Pohl

Patent number: 5035596Abstract: A coextrusion head for the continuous production of multilayer tubular structures having three to seven-layers. The basic tubular structure produced has a central barrier layer and symmetrically arranged thereabout, layers of adhesive agent, regenerated and/or carrier materials. The upper portion of the coextrusion head contains a multipiece jacket that defines annular passages in which the layers of the structure are formed. The lower portion contains the nozzle from which the tubular structure is extruded. Between the upper and lower portions are placed a core ring and a nozzle ring which together provide the transport channel between the annular passageway in which the layers are joined and the inlet to the nozzle. Each ring has two alternative configurations. One configuration permits movement of the layered material in the annular passageway where the layers are joined and the second configuration precludes such movement.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1989Date of Patent: July 30, 1991Assignee: Bekum Maschinenfabriken GmbHInventor: Harald Pohl

Patent number: 4838778Abstract: A coextrusion head for the continuous production of laminated tubes to be used as parisons in blow molding. The tubes consist of a plurality of layers of synthetic resins. The synthetic resin layers include one or more supporting layers, usually a barrier layer, and adhesive layers as necessary. The layers are brought together by axial, annular feed passageways within the coextrusion head prior to the laminated tube being extruded through a nozzle in the head. Frequently one layer, generally the barrier layer, has different flow characteristics than those of the other layers, whereupon structural defects can arise in the formed tube. The apparatus described forestalls such structural defects by feeding the various layers into confluence in a manner that precludes, or sufficiently minimizes, the time layers having differing flow characteristics have contact with feed passageway walls while in confluence.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1987Date of Patent: June 13, 1989Inventors: Rudolf Becker, Wilhelm Neubauer, Hans Beyer, Harald Pohl
