  • Patent number: 7698923
Abstract: A method of and an installation for exchange of roll sets (5, 6) contemplate provision of a number of separate transversely displaceable carriages (9, 10, 11), whereby individual worn-out working roll sets (6) are displaced along a single connection track (14) by a single locomotive (21) in a roll workshop (20), and a new working roll set (6a) is displaced back to an installation position, and wherein during formation of a gap (12) in front of a rolling mill stand (2, 3, 4), a withdrawn backup roll set (5) is transported by a crane in the roll workshop and back.

  • Publication number: 20060150702
Abstract: In order to shorten the delivery path of working rolls for their replacement in a rolling mill with support plates which are provided on an operating side (BS) of roll stands (F1-Fi), are displaced transversely to roll axes, are outfitted for receiving working roll sets (4), and are located adjacent to a mill floor level (7) for transporting the working rolls (4) back and forth, and with trenches (10) which are arranged upstream of respective roll stands (F1-Fi) on the operating side (BS) and a base (11) of which is outfitted for delivery of back-up roll sets (9), it is suggested that a transport device (12) be associated a transport device (12) is associated with the support plates (2) for transporting respective support plates (2) back and forth between a position for replacing the working rolls and in which the support plates (2a) are arranged immediately adjacent to the roll stands above the trenches (10), and a position of replacing back-up rolls and in which the support plates (2c) are located beneath t

  • Patent number: 6539972
Abstract: An arrangement of pipelines of a high-pressure distribution network for liquid operating media, such as lubricants, coolants, and hydraulic pressure media for control members or drives, for a roll stand having a roll housing. The pipelines are supply pipelines, discharge pipelines, and distribution pipelines, wherein the roll stand has several consumers connected to the high-pressure distribution network for the liquid operating media. The supply lines and the discharge lines are combined to form modules of groups of pipelines mountable on the roll stand. The nominal pressure of the operating media is standardized within the pipelines of the high-pressure distribution network to a value of approximately 290 bar.
