  • Patent number: 9908091
Abstract: A furnace for steam reforming a feed stream containing hydrocarbon, preferably methane, having: a combustion chamber, a plurality of reactor tubes arranged in the combustion chamber for accommodating a catalyst and for passing the feed stream through the reactor tubes, and at least one burner which is configured to burn a combustion fuel in the combustion chamber to heat the reactor tubes. In addition at least one voltage source is provided which is connected to the plurality of reactor tubes in such a manner that in each case an electric current which heats the reactor tubes to heat the feedstock is generable in the reactor tubes.

  • Publication number: 20170022057
Abstract: A process for generating a syngas from a CO2-rich and hydrocarbon-containing feed gas, wherein a CO2-rich and hydrocarbon-containing feed gas is provided and is reacted in a syngas generation step by means of partial oxidation or steam reforming to give an H2- and CO-comprising syngas. At least CO2 is removed from the feed gas in a scrubbing of the feed gas by means of a scrubbing medium, before the feed gas is fed to the syngas generation step.

  • Publication number: 20170022058
Abstract: A process and system for the generation of synthesis gas that is provided, in particular, for preparing hydrocarbon-containing fuel, ammonia or urea. The process follows the steps of providing a first feed gas stream of methane and reacting the first feed gas stream with steam in a reforming step, obtaining a synthesis gas stream of CO and H2. It is further provided that at least one first substream is separated off from the feed gas stream before the reforming step, the first substream is then burnt with a second feed gas stream of at least 95% by volume oxygen to give an exhaust gas stream comprising CO2 and water, and at least one part of the exhaust gas stream is recirculated to the feed gas stream after the first substream is separated off.

  • Publication number: 20150260029
Abstract: A system for enhanced oil recovery from an oil field that uses the associated gases collected to produce synthetic crude oil from a GTL plant. The pressure in the oil field is maintained by injecting nitrogen obtained from an ASU. The ASU is powered by an associated power plant that uses oxygen produced by the ASU and the Fisher Tropsch tail gases (hydrogen and steam) of the GTL plant. Nitrogen recovered from the tail gas of the power plant boosts the available nitrogen needed for the enhanced oil recovery operation.

  • Patent number: 7815875
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the reactive conversion of gaseous streams at high temperatures in excess of 1000° C. Said device comprises a reaction chamber (8) with an inlet opening for the gaseous streams to be converted, in particular a burner head (2) and an outlet opening for the converted gaseous streams. In order to guarantee the highest possible conversion performance, the reaction chamber (8) has a narrow construction, extending longitudinally from the inlet opening to the outlet opening to form a controlled gaseous flow, thus preventing a circulatory flow in the reaction chamber (8). To achieve reaction conditions that are as adiabatic as possible, the reaction chamber (8) is thermally insulated with a layer (7) that has a porous foam and/or fiber structure. In the simplest embodiment, the reaction chamber (8) is cylindrical, thus achieving a tubular flow reactor construction for the entire device.

  • Publication number: 20080247942
Abstract: A method and device for the endothermic catalytic reaction of a supply flow is disclosed. The supply flow is divided into at least two partial flows that are parallelly guided through reactor tubes, which are situated inside the combustion chamber of a reactor and which are at least partially filled with a catalyst material or of a catalytically active structured packing or the interior thereof is at least partially surface-coated with a catalytically active material. The partial flows are guided inside a number of passages in the reactor tubes through the combustion chamber inside of which suitable burners guarantee an intense circulation of the combustion chamber atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 7267809
Abstract: The invention relates to a burner with a burner head (1) and a gas feed pipe (2) that is located in the burner head (1) and that is surrounded by an ring channel (3) for feed of another gas. In the gas feed pipe (2) and in the ring channel (3), there are means (10, 11) for producing a swirl of the gas flowing through the gas feed pipe (2) and that flowing through the ring channel (3).
