  • Patent number: 4554179
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for the color coding of optical fibers (1). The optical fibers (1) are drawn through color chambers (6) in which they are continuously colored. Thereafter they are provided with distinctly colored ring-shaped markings by means of swinging color jets. After passage through a drying path (7), the optical fibers (1) are wound onto take-up reels (13).

  • Patent number: 4435968
Abstract: An apparatus for the corrugation of pipes of plastically deformable material, particularly of cable sheathings of metal, through which the pipe is continuously passed, comprising a corrugator rolling bushing having an inside surface with a deformation rib which is helical (when annular parallel corrugations are to be produced on the pipe) of more than one thread, or with at least one deformation rib acting on successive points viewed in the longitudinal direction of the pipe (when helical corrugations are to be produced in the pipe), the corrugator rolling bushing being supported for free rotation in a rotatable corrugator head, the inside diameter of the corrugator rolling bushing being larger than the diameter of the pipe to be corrugated and the corrugator rolling bushing being supported eccentrically to the pipe.

  • Patent number: 3996414
Abstract: In a gas insulated high voltage cable having an outer tubular, corrugated conductor and an inner centrally disposed conductor, a spacer construction for holding and spacing the inner conductor in the tubular outer conductor, wherein each spacer has at least two spacer elements of semi annular construction each and complementing each other for establishing a closed annulus, each element constructed for laterial slipping onto the inner conductor, and the two spacer elements are secured to each other to establish the closed annulus in positive disposition on the inner conductor. Additional features impede local voltage breakdown, positive interlock of parts and resilient load relief.
