  • Publication number: 20170285669
Abstract: A thermostatic working element may include a cup-shaped housing having a housing jacket and a housing base, the housing containing a working chamber in which an expansion material may be located. The working element may also include an axially adjustable working piston projecting into the working chamber through a piston opening in the housing base, a cover closing a housing opening lying axially opposite the housing base, an annular seal surrounding the working piston and lying radially thereagainst, and an axial guide in a region of the housing base and surrounding and axially guiding the working piston. The annular seal may be axially in contact on a rear end side of the annular seal facing away from the housing base with the expansion material. The annular seal may lie radially against the housing jacket.

  • Publication number: 20050242311
Abstract: The present invention relates to an expansion element for thermostatic valves, having a housing, an expansion material arranged in the housing, an actuating element, which can be moved relative to the housing when the volume of the expansion material changes, and electrically activated means for heating the expansion material. In accordance with the invention, the means for heating the expansion material has two electrodes, which are in contact with the expansion material, the expansion material is electrically conductive and constitutes an electrical resistor. The invention is employed, for example, in connection with thermostatic valves in coolant systems of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 6674370
Abstract: A display apparatus on the vehicle ceiling, in front of a partition wall which blocks the view of the rear window from the internal rear-view mirror, in order to display information, in particular about an area to the rear of the vehicle which is monitored by a monitoring device. When driving rearwards, the internal mirror is deflected, for example being pivoted automatically upwards from the position of the direction of travel selection lever, so that the driver can read the display, which is otherwise located outside the mirror field of view, via the rear-view mirror.

  • Patent number: 5153488
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manually controlling a windscreen wiper drive motor in a motor vehicle in several speed steps, by which the drive motor can also be automatically switched from a manually switched-on speed step into a lower speed step when the speed passes through a predetermined threshold value of the motor vehicle travelling speed from a higher travelling speed. The apparatus and method provide automatic switching of the drive motor from each manually switched-on speed step into a lower speed step when the speed passes through the threshold value, cancellation of the current automatic switching until the speed again passes through the threshold value from a higher travelling speed when the control switch has been operated below the threshold value of the travelling speed and after the drive motor has been automatically switched into a lower speed step, and switching-on of each speed step of the drive motor selected by this operation of the control switch.

  • Patent number: 4523136
Abstract: A safety arrangement for an adjusting installation of a seat adapted to be actuated manually or programmed, especially of a vehicle seat, with adjusting motors and with an electronic circuit which gives priority to the manual seat adjustment over a programmed seat adjustment, which, in case of a relay or adjusting motor defect, opens up the corresponding circuit, which in case of a simultaneous actuation of several position buttons, interrupts a programmed seat adjustment and which after interruption of the energy supply permits a programmed seat adjustment only after renewed storage of a seat position.
