  • Patent number: 8334045
Abstract: A wrapping tape for automatically circumferentially wrapping an axially extending article, in particular a cable or a cable loom, the tape suitable for wrapping around the article and then tautened and joined to itself in an overlapping manner by a joining tool. The wrapping tape comprises a core with a contact area, which is designed to rest on the article; and tabs protruding laterally from the core. A tab forms such an angle with the contact area that the joining tool can engage behind the tab when the tape is wrapped tightly around the article, and without the tool engaging behind the contact area, while tabs of overlapping tape portions are joined to one another.

  • Patent number: 8210483
Abstract: A fastening element for fastening a longitudinally extending article, in particular a cable or a cable loom, which is to be fixed to a component, in particular to a motor vehicle body part, with a wrapping tape. The fastening element comprising a body including a first cheek element, a second cheek element, and at least two connection struts which connect the cheek elements to one another in a longitudinal direction of the body, and which define an opening for receiving the tape. The tape is insertable into the opening substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction, in order to circumferentially wrap the article with the wrapping tape.

  • Patent number: 8146491
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically circumferentially wrapping a cable with a wrapping tape connectable to a fastener, wherein the apparatus comprises: a gripper device with movable jaws, a joining tool, a first feeder; a second feeder, and a control device. The jaws permit the fastener and the wrapping tape to be circumferentially guided around the cable. The joining tool joins overlapping portions of the tape, and is adapted to join the tape separately to the fastener. The first feeder advances tape to the gripper device during the wrapping operation and retracts the tape during tautening. The second feeder feeds the fastener to the gripper device. The control device locks the fastener in a predefined circumferential position relative to the cable, and causes the first feeder to advance the tape forward relative to the fastener by a predefined tape length.

  • Patent number: 7870648
Abstract: A disk-shaped object of synthetic thermoplastic material has contact surfaces on opposite sides that possess a rough texture. In a method for production of the disk-shaped object, synthetic material is injected under pressure in a plasticized state into a cooled molding tool and removed therefrom after a cooling phase, the molding tool having correspondingly rough molding surfaces to form the rough contact surfaces of the object.

  • Patent number: 7156670
Abstract: A device and method for creating an electrical contact region between an electrical contact shoe and a stud is provided. The stud includes a flange having a contact face facing a threaded shank. A welding portion extending from the flange faces opposite to the contact face. The welding portion is stud welded to a metal sheet having a thickness of 0.6 mm or less. A cap nut made of a plastic material is fastened to the stud, the plastic material permitting self-locking. To prevent deformation of the metal sheet, a maximum torque of 4 Nm is applied to the cap nut. The cap nut serves a first function of sealing against paint penetration into the electrical contact region and a second function of creating electrical contact between the contact shoe and the stud.

  • Patent number: 7150438
Abstract: A holder (12; 60; 80; 102) is proposed for an object (14; 104), preferably for a fuel filter (104) for a motor vehicle, having two arms (24, 26; 62, 64; 82, 84; 112, 114) designed together to enclose the object (14; 104), the two arms being positively connected to each other at their respective first end by means of a first connection (28; 66; 116) and at their respective second end by means of a second connection (30; 68; 118), and having fastening means (52; 70; 72; 120) to fix the interconnected arms (24, 26; 62, 63; 82, 84; 112, 114) to a frame (16; 106), preferably to the motor vehicle. Here the fastening means comprise an opening (52; 70; 72; 120) in the arms (24, 26; 62, 64; 82, 84; 112, 114) arranged in the region of the first connection (28; 66; 116), into which opening a fastening element (18; 86; 108) is introducible that is connectable to the frame (16; 106) and by means of which the first connection (28; 66; 116) can be secured against loosening.

  • Patent number: 7048486
Abstract: An insert part (1) for insertion in an opening in a wall has a neck (7) to pass through the opening and a flange (4) arranged on the neck (7) and comprising a depression (5) on the under side facing the neck (7). The depression (5) is bounded on the outside by an elevated circumferential edge and contains a body (17) of adhesive capable of being brought into a flowable state by heating. To secure the insert part in the opening of the wall, catches (8) are attached to the neck (7). The body (17) is of such size that it is completely accommodated by the depression (5), and the insert part (1) is of such conformation that, in the installation position in which it is secured by the catches (8) in the opening of the wall, the circumferential edge (6) of the flange (4) is firmly pressed into contact with the wall.

  • Patent number: 6877997
Abstract: An electrical contact stud (1), a cap nut (12) of plastic material, an electrical contact system for fastening an electrical contact and a method for fastening an electrical contact to a workpiece (11) to be painted are provided. A cap nut (12), economically produced, made of plastics material, and not necessarily having to be electrically conducting, fastens an electrical contact shoe (21). As a plastics material nut can be self-locking, the required maximum torques for producing contact are relatively small, for example 8 Nm, and fastening an electrical contact is made possible even with thin sheets of metal with sheet metal thicknesses of less than 0.6 mm without deformation. The cap nut (12) made of plastics material serves in a first step as a seal against paint penetration into the electrical contact region and in a second step for fastening a contact shoe (21).
