  • Publication number: 20220314389
Abstract: A knife sharpening device has two sharpening rods which are pivotally arranged on a base and arranged in a V-shape relative to one another to allow insertion of a knife therebetween. The sharpening rods each comprise at least one sharpening insert. The sharpening rods are held in a rest position at a predetermined distance from one another in their V-shaped arrangement by the force of a respective spring. The sharpening rods are spreadable apart in a sharpening position by insertion of the knife upon contact of the knife with the sharpening inserts against the force of the spring. The sharpening rods are held by a single holding point on the base.

  • Publication number: 20210031325
Abstract: A knife sharpening device having a plate with two sharpening rods, which are mounted on the plate so that they can swivel. The plate has a slot, which is open at one end and closed at the opposite end. The arrangement of the sharpening rods and the slot are in axial alignment with each other and serve to insert a knife. The sharpening rods each have at least one sharpening insert. The sharpening rods are kept at a predetermined distance from each other in a rest position by the force of one spring in each case. The sharpening rods can be spread apart against the force of the spring in a sharpening position upon insertion of the knife when the knife comes into contact with the sharpening inserts. The plate has at least one point, at which at least one sharpening rod is held relative to the plate.

  • Patent number: 7393266
Abstract: The invention relates to a pocket-sized knife sharpening device comprising two sharpening bars which are arranged in a housing and which are rotationally mounted. The sharpening bars are guided with the other ends thereof into arc-shaped recesses in the front wall and the rear wall of the housing. They are loaded onto each other by means of springs and cross each other in a knife opening which is formed by slits extending in a parallel manner in relation to each other in the front wall of the rear wall.

  • Publication number: 20070224922
Abstract: The invention relates to a pocket-sized knife sharpening device comprising two sharpening bars (11, 12) which are arranged in a housing (1) and which are rotationally mounted. The sharpening bars (11, 12) are guided with the other ends thereof into arc-shaped recesses (15, 16; 17, 18) in the front wall (6) and the rear wall (4) of the housing (1). They are loaded onto each other by means of springs (13, 14) and cross each other in a knife opening (7) which is formed by slits (8, 9) extending in a parallel manner in relation to each other in the front wall (6) of the rear wall (4).

  • Patent number: 6905403
Abstract: The invention relates to a knife sharpening machine comprising a plate-type holding device on which two intersecting sharpening bars are rotationally mounted and loaded in relation to each other by means of springs. The sharpening bars, at least in the grinding area, are made of a ceramic material. The plate is provided with a slit which is open on one end and closed on the other, extending as far as the intersection point of the sharpening bars. When pressure is exerted by the knife in the direction of the closed slit end, the sharpening bars are spread apart from each other counter to the force of the springs. Curved guides are provided on both sides of the slit. The ends of the sharpening bars, facing away from the axes of rotation thereof, are guided therein.

  • Patent number: 6305085
Abstract: A clasp knife has a handle lying generally in a plane and forming an elongated recess extending longitudinally in the plane, open laterally of the plane, and having an outer longitudinally open end formed with a retaining formation. A pivot pin at the outer end defines an axis substantially parallel to the plane and transverse to the recess. A blade lying generally in a plane including the axis has a cutting edge extending generally perpendicular to the axis adjacent the axis, pivots on the pin about the axis between a closed position received in the recess and an extended position with the blade plane generally coplanar with the handle plane, moves limitedly axially relative to the handle between a pair of end positions, and has a formation fitting complementary with the handle formation in one of the end positions. A spring braced axially between the blade and the body urges the blade into the one end position.
