  • Publication number: 20240050651
Abstract: A medical system has a body-wearable medical device such as an insulin pump, a continuous glucose monitor, or a handheld diabetes management device. The system also includes a disposable container that has a reservoir for storing a foodstuff or a drug. The disposable container has an opening that provides access to the reservoir and a tamper evident closure that seals the opening. A fastener is provided to detachably fasten the disposable container to the body-wearable medical device. The fastener may be provided in the form of a mechanical, non-adhesive medical device fastener, e.g., a bracket that at least partially embraces the body-wearable medical device or the disposable container.

  • Publication number: 20220327902
Abstract: This disclosure lies in the field of a computer implemented method of routing a video call from a call center computer system comprising a controller, a transceiver, and a machine learning system, to a product service agent computer system assigned to a certain medical device product type and associated services. This disclosure involves using artificial intelligence in order to identify a medical device product based on recorded product image data. Further aspects of this disclosure provide a corresponding call center computer system for routing a video call initiated by a mobile device from the call center computer system to a medical device product service agent computer system as well as a computer-implemented method for generating a model of a medical device product type.

  • Publication number: 20220126015
Abstract: A jacket for watertight sealing a medical device is disclosed. The jacket includes a flexible envelope having a first side and an opposing second side. The first side has a first sealing lip configured to surround the medical device and a second sealing lip spaced from the first sealing lip and configured to surround the medical device. The flexible envelope has an envelope contacting sealing end that is fixedly connectable to the opposing second side. A method of using the inventive jacket includes mounting a medical device on a skin site of an extremity of a user and placing the jacket onto the skin site such that the first sealing lip and the second sealing lip surround the medical device. The flexible envelope is then wrapped around the extremity and fixedly connects the envelope contacting sealing end to the opposing second side of the flexible envelope.

  • Patent number: 11191898
Abstract: The invention relates to a drug delivery system for a patient comprising an insulin delivery device (100), a user interface (101), a controller (109) comprising instructions and a user definable threshold criterion (114; 116) of a residual availability of a drug provided in a reservoir (102) of the drug delivery system, wherein executing of the instructions by the controller (109) causes the controller (109) to control the drug delivery system to determine the amount of the drug that is currently available to the patient and compare the determined amount with the threshold criterion (114; 116), in response to the comparison, in case the determined amount is lower than or equal to the threshold criterion (114; 116), providing a signal to the patient via the user interface (101). The drug is insulin.
