Abstract: The present invention relates to substrates comprising a surface to which a compound is immobilized, methods for immobilizing the compounds to substrates, as well as devices, such as medical devices, comprising said substrates. Also described are compounds suitable for use in preparing such substrates. Compounds immobilized on the substrates and compounds for preparing such substrates include antimicrobial and/or anti-inflammatory compounds according to Formulas (I), (II), (III), (IV), (V), (VI), and (VII) described herein.
