    Abstract: A method and a device for testing whether planar material, in particular films, are leakproof. The planar material is continuously conveyed in a continuous process through a test chamber which has a test gas chamber on one side of the planar material and a measuring chamber on the other side of the planar material. The test gas chamber side is subjected to a test gas with a predefinable test pressure, and the presence of test gas on the measuring chamber side is detected.
