  • Publication number: 20230417167
Abstract: An internal combustion engine. Exhaust gas is flowable through an exhaust tract. Secondary air is flowable through a secondary air conduit and is introducible into the exhaust tract via the secondary air conduit. A mixture having secondary air introduced into the exhaust tract and fuel components is ignitable in the exhaust tract by an ignition device. Fresh air flowing through a suction tract is introducible into a combustion chamber via the suction tract. The secondary air conduit is fluidically connected to the suction tract at a diversion point where a portion of the fresh air in the suction tract is divertable from the suction tract by the secondary air conduit and is introducible into the exhaust tract as the secondary air. The fuel components that are contained in the exhaust gas, originate from the combustion chamber and reach the exhaust tract uncombusted from the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 11761356
Abstract: An internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle includes a crankshaft, a camshaft, a cylinder, a piston movably disposed in the cylinder and coupled to the crankshaft for driving the crankshaft, a first gas exchange valve which is assigned to the cylinder, a first valve clearance compensation device, where via the first valve clearance compensation device the first gas exchange valve is displaceable between a first open position and a first closed position by a first cam of the camshaft, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to align the camshaft such that the first valve clearance compensation device is pressure-loaded in the idle state of the crankshaft by a plateau area assigned to the first cam to hold the first gas exchange valve in the first open position.

  • Patent number: 7984612
Abstract: In an exhaust-gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine comprising an exhaust-gas turbine arranged in an exhaust strand of the internal combustion engine and a compressor arranged in an intake tract and connected to the exhaust gas turbine so as to be driven thereby, the compressor including a compressor wheel and a compressor housing surrounding the compressor wheel and having an inlet duct, a dynamic pressure probe is provided upstream of the compressor wheel in the inlet duct for measuring at least the total pressure in the air flow into the compressor.
