  • Patent number: 10702882
Abstract: The present disclosure relates, in various embodiments, to methods and systems for masking and de-masking a portion of an interior surface of a structure, such as may be useful in the selective coating of an interior surface of a structure. The method comprises providing a masking device comprising a magnetically active material and a seal-forming material and inserting the masking device into an interior of the structure. A magnetic force is activated in order to bring the masking device into sealable contact with a portion of an interior surface of the structure, thereby producing a masked portion of the interior surface. While maintaining the sealable contact, the unmasked portion of the interior surface of the structure is coated with a coating material. After the coating, the magnetic force is deactivated in order to bring the masking device out of sealable contact with the interior surface of the structure.

  • Patent number: 10589500
Abstract: Methods and systems of customized and selective decoration of internal tube-like surfaces using pre-printed films with splinter resistant property are described. The method of adhering a film to an internal surface of a tube-like structure. The structure may have a hollow interior defined by the internal surface. The method may be carried out by providing a pre-printed film comprising first and second sides and an adhesive layer adhered to at least a portion of the first side. The pre-printed film may be positioned at least partially within the hollow interior with the adhesive layer positioned adjacent to the internal surface of the tube-like structure. The adhesive layer may be adhered to the internal surface of the tube-like structure.

  • Publication number: 20160250661
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure provides a method of selectively coating an internal surface of a tube-like wall. The tube-like wall may have an internal surface, an external surface, and a hollow interior defined by the internal surface. The method may comprise steps of coating at least a portion of the internal surface of the tube-like wall with a coating material that is selectively curable by exposure to initiation energy; and selectively transmitting initiation energy from outside the tube-like wall, through the tube-like wall, into contact with a portion of the coating material, under conditions effective to cure the contacted portion of the coating material, and at least substantially without curing another portion of the coating material unexposed or less-exposed to the initiation energy.
