  • Patent number: 5249939
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved valved discharge mechanism of a refrigerant compressor. The compressor includes a compressor housing having at least one chamber in which successive strokes of sucking, compressing, and discharging a refrigerant gas is repeatedly performed. The chamber is linked to an outside chamber through a conduit formed in the compressor housing. A valved discharge mechanism is disposed at one end opening of the conduit which opens to the outside chamber. The valved discharge mechanism includes a discharge reed valve which by means of a bending movement blocks and opens the one end opening of the conduit. The discharge reed valve has a predetermined value of elastic modulus which allows the discharge reed valve to keep blocking the one end opening of the conduit until the pressure in the chamber reaches a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5052903
Abstract: An automotive refrigerant compressor according to the present invention comprises a compressor housing that includes at least one bracket. The bracket has a hole through which a fastening member, such as a bolt for example, penetrates. A vibroisolating member is provided that includes a cylindrical portion and an annular flange portion radially extending from one end of the cylindrical portion. The cylindrical portion is firmly inserted into the hole in the bracket, with the flange portion disposed at an outer surface of the bracket. The flange portion includes a pair of protrusions on opposing sides of the flange portion. The protrusions are inwardly bent at the base thereof so as to fit along a side surface of the bracket when the cylindrical portion of the vibroisolating member is inserted into the hole.

  • Patent number: 4870893
Abstract: A wobble plate type compressor is disclosed which includes a compressor housing having a plurality of cylinders and a crank chamber adjacent the cylinders therein. A reciprocative piston is slidably fitted within each of the cylinders. A drive mechanism is coupled to the pistons. The drive mechanism includes a drive shaft which is rotatably supported in an opening of a front end plate and extends into the compressor housing. The drive shaft is supported by a radial bearing. The drive shaft is attached on to an end surface of a cam rotor at an inclination angle .theta..sub.1 and rotates therewith. The angle .theta..sub.1 is predetermined so that under severe operating conditions the interior surface of the radial bearing and the exterior surface of the drive shaft are uniformly contacted with each other to prevent damages due to partial contact. In alternative embodiments, the radial bearing is formed with a conical inner surface to insure uniform contact between it and the exterior surface of the drive shaft.

Also, an urging mechanism causes the inner end surface of the cam rotor to uniformly contact a thrust bearing disposed between the cam rotor and the front end plate.
