  • Publication number: 20210088468
Abstract: A biosensor having somatic cells immobilized on an electrode formed from a biologically inert material for sensing transepithelial/transendothelial electrical resistance is provided. The biosensor includes a working electrode formed from gold, graphene, carbon nanotube, or alloys or combinations thereof, having somatic cells formed directly thereon. With such a configuration, a very small sample size may be used while still eliciting an electrical response in the presence of a target composition.

  • Patent number: 9671359
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing a humidity sensor based on resistive type porous Magnesium Ferrite (MgFe2O4) pellets and a humidity sensor thereof. More particularly, the present invention includes a synthesis process of preparing 30 to 40% porous MgFe2O4 pellets. The process further includes making Ohmic contacts on the porous MgFe2O4 pellets. The process is very cost effective and optimized to keep the resistance of the porous MgFe2O4 pellets in the range 200-300 M?. Further, the response and recovery time of the porous MgFe2O4 pellets to humidity is in the range of few seconds only. Further, the porous MgFe2O4 pellets can be used for humidity sensing for more than 12 months. Due to resistance stability even after long-term exposure in humidity, the porous MgFe2O4 pellets do not require flash heating.

  • Publication number: 20110004960
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for making and using transgenic plants that exhibit increased nitrogen storage capacity compared to wild-type plants. Methods of the invention comprise inducing overexpression of monocot-derived vegetative storage proteins (VSPs) in plants, particularly in monocots. In some embodiments, at least one nucleotide construct comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding the ZmLox6 protein or a biologically active fragment or variant thereof is introduced into a plant. Depending upon the objective, the nucleotide construct may optionally comprise an operably linked coding sequence for a vacuolar sorting signal or plastid transit peptide in order to direct storage of the ZmLox6 protein or biologically active fragment or variant thereof into the vacuolar compartment or plastid compartment, respectively, of the cells in which the VSP is expressed.
