Patent number: 12289737Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may be configured with multiple bandwidth parts (BWPs) and may support multiple subscriber identification modules (SIMs) (e.g., may operate in a multi-SIM (MSIM) mode). The UE may tune away from a default data SIM (DDS) subscription for a tune away gap and may miss any downlink signaling, such as an indication of a BWP switch, for a duration of the tune away. To avoid latency resulting from such missed downlink signaling, the UE may support a mechanism according to which the UE may autonomously switch to a different BWP despite a missed command from a network entity. Such a mechanism may include transmission of a scheduling request (SR) on each of multiple BWPs configured for the UE and monitoring each of the multiple BWPs for signaling responsive to the SR.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2022Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Syam Pavan Vadapalli, Harinath Reddy Patel, Ashutosh Gupta, Ankammarao Ravuvari, Roop Sagar Inakollu

Publication number: 20240178983Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a first-active bandwidth part (BWP). The first-active BWP may correspond to a subset of a channel bandwidth. Retuning one or more components (e.g., radio frequency (RF) components) to the first-active BWP at the UE may involve a relatively significant delay. To avoid missing communications while tuning to the first-active BWP, the UE may initially tune to the channel bandwidth. The UE may identify a next-available time resource for retuning to the first-active BWP, where the next-available time resource may be a portion of an off-duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle or a portion of a measurement gap. The UE may use the time resource to retune to the first-active BWP while the UE is configured to reduce communications with a serving base station.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2022Publication date: May 30, 2024Inventors: Anuj Vyas, Ashutosh Gupta, Harinath Reddy Patel, Neeraj Panwar, Pankaj Shivcharan Gupta

Publication number: 20230231681Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may switch the set of antennas that the UE uses to transmit sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions. For example, the UE may switch from transmitting first SRSs that conflict with a scheduled communication from a first set of antennas to a second set of antennas (e.g., that is, the conflict may be at the first set of antennas). The UE may be transmitting second SRSs using the second set of antennas, and the switching may cause the UE to transmit the second SRSs using the first set of antennas instead. The second SRSs may not conflict with the scheduled communication (e.g., due to using different resources than the first SRSs), which may enable the UE to transmit the second SRSs and the scheduled communication using the same first set of antennas.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2022Publication date: July 20, 2023Inventors: Praveen Peruru, Karthikeyan Sabapathi, Mahender Reddy Akkapally, Sarfraz Mohammed Ghani, Harinath Reddy Patel, Pankaj Shivcharan Gupta, Akash Srivastava

Publication number: 20180220329Abstract: A multi-subscriber identification module (SIM) wireless communication device with a first SIM and a second SIM associated with a shared radio frequency (RF) resource may determine that timing collisions are predicted between an active period of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle associated with the first SIM and an active period of a DRX cycle associated with the second SIM. In response, the wireless communication device may determine whether the first SIM is registered with an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to use Voice-over-wireless local area network (VoWLAN) service over a wireless local area network (WLAN). If the first SIM is registered with the IMS to use VoWLAN service over the WLAN, the wireless communication device may shift the conflicting DRX cycle associated with the first SIM by a time margin, and receive paging messages for mobile terminating calls on the modem stack associated with the first SIM over the WLAN.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2017Publication date: August 2, 2018Inventors: Bhaskaran Arumugam, Akash Srivastava, Pankaj Bansal, Hardeepsinh Jadeja, Sumit Kumar, Ravi Kanth Kotreka, Harinath Reddy Patel, Naresh Babu Vungarala
