Abstract: A method, apparatus and system are provided for use in accessing data in handheld devices. One embodiment provides an apparatus for use in wirelessly communicating that comprises first and second parts that are pivotably attached to be opened and closed; an exterior display; a first actuator that causes a shift of the data on the display to show a first alternate portion of the data; a second actuator that shifts data to display a second alternate portion of the data; and a third actuator that shifts the data to display a third alternate portion when activated for a predefined period, and/or to display a fourth portion or fifth portion when the first or second actuators, respectively, are activated while the third actuator is activated. Typically, the first, second and third actuators are accessible when the apparatus is in the closed position.
