    Abstract: The invention concerns a method for transforming an aminophenol, characterized in that it consists in a step whereby said aminophenol aniline function is in the form of an anilide function and said phenol is dissolved in a hydophobic and weakly polar solvent in the presence of water, an alkaline hydroxide, a phase transfer catalyst and a halide or an alkyl pseudo-halide. The invention is applicable to organic synthesis.
