  • Patent number: 4280532
Abstract: A control unit having a plurality of pneumatically operated valve constructions for controlling the fluid flow from a first fluid source in relation to the condition of a second fluid source that is adapted to be inter-connected to the pneumatically operated valve constructions, the control unit having a self-contained housing structure carrying the valve constructions therein in substantially a circular array and having a centrally arranged inlet substantially concentric to the circular array and being adapted to be interconnected to the first fluid source.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 10, 1980
Date of Patent: July 28, 1981
    Assignee: Robertshaw Controls Company

  • Patent number: 4143616
Abstract: A selectively changeable pneumatic control system for monitoring the start-up and running of process machinery, the system having a pneumatically operated indicator, a pneumatically operated arrangement for operating the indicator and a selector for setting the pneumatically operated arrangement to any one of a first, second, third, fourth or fifth monitoring condition thereof which monitors a respective variable of the process machinery and will operate the indicator to indicate an unsafe condition thereof, the first condition being adapted to monitor a variable of the process machinery that is normally safe when the process machinery is not running, the second condition being adapted to monitor a variable of the process machinery that is normally unsafe when the process machinery is not running but must be locked out to allow start-up and must become safe within a predetermined time period after initial start-up, the third condition being adapted to monitor a variable of the process machinery that is normal

  • Patent number: 4116155
Abstract: An indicator construction having a housing carrying a movable flag member and a movable plunger operatively associated with the flag member to cause movement thereof upon movement of the plunger, a spring member being operatively interconnected to the plunger and operatively interconnected to the movable flag member to cause movement thereof upon movement of the plunger.

Date of Patent: September 26, 1978
    Assignee: Robertshaw Controls Company
Inventors: Harley V. Bible, Clifford E. Goff, William T. Moon, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4016853
Abstract: An internal combustion engine control system having a source of vacuum and a vacuum operated control device. A vacuum operated temperature controlled valve construction is provided for interconnecting the source to the device when the construction senses a certain temperature, the construction having means for only disconnecting the source from the device when the value of the source falls below a certain level thereof regardless of the temperature being sensed. The valve construction has a temperature operated pilot valve arrangement for actuating the valve construction to an open condition thereof when the certain temperature is sensed, the pilot valve arrangement including a snap acting bimetal disc for opening and closing a pilot valve seat thereof.

  • Patent number: 4017054
Abstract: A condition responsive valve construction having a housing provided with an inlet and an outlet leading to and from a chamber therein. A self-contained valve seat and movable valve member unit is removably disposed in the chamber to control the interconnection between the inlet and the outlet. Condition responsive means are carried by the housing for controlling movement of the valve member relative to the valve seat in relation to the condition sensed by the condition responsive means. The self-contained unit is either a direct acting unit or a reverse acting unit while still being adapted to be operated by the same condition responsive means whereby the condition responsive valve construction can be either direct acting or reverse acting, depending upon the self-contained unit removably disposed in the chamber thereof.

  • Patent number: 3986524
Abstract: A valve construction having a housing provided with an inlet and an outlet and a movable valve seat disposed between the inlet and the outlet. A movable valve member is provided for opening and closing the valve seat. A condition responsive unit is operatively associated with the valve member to move the valve member relative to the valve seat in response to the conditions sensed by the condition responsive unit. A snap opening unit is interconnected to the valve seat to rapidly move the valve seat away from the valve member when the valve member has initially opened the valve seat a certain amount.
