  • Patent number: 11893098
Abstract: A computing device (200) for authenticating a user (110) is provided. The computing device is operative to display a first text (131) to the user, acquire a representation of the user subvocalizing a part of the first text, derive a user phrasing signature from the acquired representation, and authenticate the user in response to determining that the user phrasing signature and a reference phrasing signature fulfil a similarity condition. Optionally, the computing device may be further operative to determine if the user is authorized to read the first text. Further optionally, the computing device may be operative to reveal obfuscated parts of the first text in response to determining that the user is authorized to read the first text, or to discontinue displaying the first text, or to obfuscate at least part of the first text, in response to determining that the user is not authorized to read the first text.

  • Patent number: 11683468
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for coordination of structured light-based image detectors. In some examples, one or more structured light sources may be configured to project sets of points onto the scene. The sets of points may be arranged into disjoint sets of geometrical shapes such as lines, where each geometrical shape includes a subset of the points projected by an illumination source. A relative position and or a color of the points in each geometrical shape may encode an identification code with which each illumination source may be identified. Thus, even when the point clouds projected by each of the illumination sources overlap, the geometrical shapes may still be detected, and thereby a corresponding illumination source may be identified. A depth map may then be estimated based on stereovision principles or depth-from-focus principles by one or more image detectors.

  • Patent number: 10554396
Abstract: A communications device for generating a key for use as a shared secret in communications with another communications device. Each communications device comprises a sensor array for measuring a spatially-varying magnetic field originating from a first spatially-varying density of metallic particles comprised in a first battery, when subjected to an excitation magnetic field, and processing means operative to acquire a set of values from the sensor array, which set of values represents the spatially-varying magnetic field, and to derive the key from the set of values. The excitation magnetic field is generated by a magnetic-field generator comprised in one of the communications devices. Thereby, the two communications devices may, when in proximity, generate identical keys by probing the spatially-varying density of metallic particles comprised in the first battery.

  • Publication number: 20180159683
Abstract: A communications device (110) for generating a key for use as a shared secret in communications with another communications device (120) is provided. Each of the communications devices (110, 120) comprises a sensor array (111, 121) for measuring a spatially-varying magnetic field (320) originating from a first spatially-varying density of metallic particles comprised in a first battery (113), when subjected to an excitation magnetic field, and processing means operative to acquire a set of values from the sensor array (111, 121), which set of values represents the spatially-varying magnetic field (320), and to derive the key from the set of values. The excitation magnetic field (310) is generated by a magnetic-field generator (114) comprised in one of the communications devices (110, 120). Thereby, the two communications devices (110, 120) may, when in proximity, generate identical keys by probing the spatially-varying density of metallic particles comprised in the first battery (113).

  • Patent number: 9889564
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for grasp point selection for robotic grippers through machine vision and ultrasound beam based deformation. The grasp point selection may aim to increase a probability that the grasp points on an object behave in a substantially similar way when a robotic gripper executes a corresponding grasp on the object. According to some examples, an outline of an object may be extracted from a three-dimensional (3D) image of the object and a set of points may be selected as candidate grasp points from the outline based on the candidate grasp points' potential to achieve force closure. One or more ultrasound transducers may be used to exert a local force on the candidate grasp points through an ultrasound beam and resulting local deformations may be recorded. Final grasp points may be selected based on having similar response to the force applied by the ultrasound transducers.

  • Publication number: 20170355271
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for a distributed system to provide wireless energy sharing between electrically powered vehicles. In some examples, two or more vehicles traveling on a roadway may be configured to share energy while in route to a destination. The vehicles may be equipped with wireless energy transfer units to enable the vehicles to exchange energy. At least one of the vehicles may be a mobile electric charging station configured to store a large amount of charge and to provide charge to vehicles. The electric charging station may be in communication with a controller, where the controller may be configured to identify vehicles in need of recharge and to identify at least one vehicle having sufficient charge to share. The controller may schedule a time and place for the two vehicles to meet in order to share charge. Additionally, the vehicles may be self-coordinated without a controller.

  • Publication number: 20170308434
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for partial cloud data storage. In one example, a method includes dividing, by a system comprising a processor, a file into a set of source packets in response to an indication that the file is to be stored in a data store of a network device. The method also includes transforming the set of source packets into a set of encoded packets by encoding the set of packets into codeword symbols of an error correcting code. Further, the method includes facilitating storage of a first portion of the set of encoded packets to the data store of the network device and a second portion of the set of encoded packets to one or more user devices. A first number of packets in the first portion is more than a second number of packets in the second portion and the second portion is at least used to decode the file.
