  • Patent number: 5635680
Abstract: In a onboard weighing system for a vehicle the load is carried by a load frame which during the transport mode rests on the vehicle support frame and for weighing, after the vehicle has come to a stop, a force is applied to raise the load frame off the vehicle support frame and onto a load cell so that the load cell will produce a signal indication of the weight of the load. As a feature the load cell is pivotally mounted in gimbal rings to compensate for any pitch or roll angles due to tilting of the vehicle and/or the load frame. As yet another feature a mechanism is provided to securely but releasably lock the load or weigh frame onto the vehicle support frame during the transport mode.

  • Patent number: 5125501
Abstract: A product feed device includes multiple drivers mounted pivotally between a pair of parallel and opposed endless chains. When pivoted to an active position, each driver engages a product and pushes the product along a path. A set of cams is disposed upstream of the path. Each of the cams is alternatively positionable in alignment between the chains, to engage successive drivers to either set or reset the drivers as they encounter the cam. The cams set and reset successive drivers in different repeating sequences, thus to enable switching from one selected spacing between actuated cams to another, depending on which cam is in the operating position. A pair of opposed guide members extend longitudinally along the path to confine the chains against transverse movement, and maintain each of the drivers in its selected orientation, whether set to active or reset to a bypass position.

  • Patent number: 4037289
Abstract: Apparatus for maintaining surfaces that includes a powered mobile machine having a frame, a scrubbing tool, a liquid distributor ahead of the scrubbing tool, a clean solution tank for supplying liquid to the liquid distributor, a housing mounting the tool, a rear squeegee assembly and side squeegee assemblies, a dirty solution tank on the frame, and a vacuumized system for withdrawing liquid collected by the rear squeegee assembly and transferring it to the dirty solution tank. The rear squeegee assembly is preferably parabolic in plan view. Scissor type linkages are connected to the housing or other parts of the machine and each of the rear and side squeegee assemblies and are spring urged to urge the respective assembly downwardly with nearly constant pressure. Further, in each of the first and second embodiments of the rear squeegee assembly, parallel linkages mount the rear squeegee assembly for limited vertical movement relative the housing.
