  • Patent number: 4756690
Abstract: A U-shaped bar is arranged for connection of an artificial denture thereto and includes segments arranged to be implanted in the upper jaw bone and in the zygomatic bone. The bar and implant segments are formed of a sturdy but bendable material capable of shaping at the time of installation. The segments to be implanted in the jaw bone comprise front and rear segments with non-implant areas therebetween to avoid sinus cavities.

  • Patent number: 4553939
Abstract: A tool with a gripping handle and a forwardly extending shank on the handle having a cross sectional dimension of height and thickness capable of being received in a primary recess in the ramus portion of a mandible. A reduced thickness extension is provided on the forward end of the shank which is arranged to form a reduced width secondary recess by manually forcing the extension into the bone area at an end of the primary recess. The shank has an upwardly angled forward portion and the handle has a rearward angled end forming a lateral gripping area for the tool. The free end of the extension is rounded and sharpened for piercing bone.

  • Patent number: 4547158
Abstract: A one-piece U-shaped bar is arranged to support an artificial denture on its upper edge and terminates at the rearward end in ramus implants. Each of the ramus implants comprises a rear extension of side portions of the bar, and these extensions are of reduced thickness than other portions of the bar for fitting between narrowed side defining bone areas of ramus portions of the jaw. Rear extensions of the bar are offset laterally for proper fitting in the ramus portions of the jaw. The rear extensions have apertures therethrough with funnel shaped openings at the sides for providing a locking connection of bone growing through the openings.

  • Patent number: 4537575
Abstract: A one-piece U-shaped bar is arranged to support an artificial denture on its upper edge. The front of the bar is curved and the side portions thereof are substantially straight whereby to be of a contour similar to the contour of the lower jaw of a person. The bar has rear ramus implant portions as well as a front implant portion. Each of the ramus implant portions extends upwardly at an angle greater than a right angle but less than 180.degree. relative to the bar and also comprises an extention of the sides of the bar. Except for a small outward bend of the bar at the sides immediately forward of the ramus implant portions, the latter are substantially in longitudinal alignment with such sides. The ramus implant portions project upwardly as well as downwardly relative to the bar, with the upwardly extending portion having a length substantially greater than the downwardly extending portion. These upwardly and downwardly extending portions are pointed at their ends.

  • Patent number: 4370134
Abstract: A frame has a pair of rails extending substantially in parallel relation. These rails are secured together at spaced points by cross webs and posts depend from these cross webs which support tooth-like portions secured together. The rails are arranged to be implanted respectively in grooves cut in the lower edge of the alveolar ridge of the upper jaw bone and in an area inwardly of the mouth of such edge such as in the palatine bone. The rails, posts and tooth-like portions are integrated into a one-piece unit and are all coated with porcelain to provide an attractive assembly as well as to provide structure that forms a physiological seal with mouth tissue.
