  • Patent number: 6925991
Abstract: A fuel supply system for reciprocating engines in which predetermined amounts of fuel are injected into the air fuel supply of the engine in timed relation to the reciprocating engine with the amounts of fuel varying in response to speed and load on said engine by varying the stroke of a reciprocating fuel pump in response to the position of a throttle valve.

Date of Patent: August 9, 2005

  • Publication number: 20010029924
Abstract: A fuel supply or management system in which fuel is delivered in pulses for each power stroke of the engine with the quantity of fuel in each pulse being determined by the speed and load of the engine through a pump control modifying the effect of operation of a reciprocating variable volume, positive displacement fuel pump by controlling the effective stroke of the pump. Fuel is delivered in accordance with the speed of and the load on the engine so that only the amount of fuel required is delivered thereby minimizing the exhaust of unburned fuel and pollution of the environment and eliminating the need for a fuel return line for excess fuel supplied.

  • Patent number: 5479899
Abstract: A fuel management system for small internal combustion engines in which metered quantities of fuel are delivered by way of a variable volume, positive displacement pump to a fuel air mixing chamber in pulses timed with the rotation of the engine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 13, 1994
Date of Patent: January 2, 1996

  • Patent number: 5394840
Abstract: A closed loop fuel supply system for operating engines in all possible attitudes in which fuel is delivered by a vacuum pump responsive to the vacuum level in the crankcase of the engine and in which the vacuum driving the pump is modulated in response to the pressure of fuel being delivered to the fuel supply system so that the amount of fuel delivered for combustion purposes is equal to the requirements of the engine without any excess. In another embodiment, the delivery of pulsating fuel is dampened to obtain a uniform fuel delivery and distribution to the combustion chamber is under the control of three shutoff valves operating throughout the speed range of the engine. In each embodiment fuel is conserved and a fuel return line is not required.

  • Patent number: 4293013
Abstract: A portable log splitter having a hydraulic cylinder for applying force to a log wherein the source of hydraulic fluid is a pump driven by a detachable power plant of the type used for chain saws. The cylinder is a two way cylinder which moves faster in the retracting direction than in the force applying direction to speed up the cycle of log splitting and the cutting blade is provided with guide members which permit a split to be completed with a short power applying stroke.

  • Patent number: 4055609
Abstract: A carburetor and fuel feed device for small internal combustion engines incorporating a pumping section which receives fuel from a supply and delivers the required amounts for the range of operation between high and low speed operation with any excess being returned to the source of supply. A control device is employed which permits deceleration from high to low speed operation without flooding by instantaneously preventing the supply of fuel for high speed operation in response to movement of the throttle valve to an idle or low speed position.
