  • Patent number: 7627997
Abstract: A fabricated concrete foundation wall is provided with a plurality of insulation panels and reinforcing ribs to improve strength and reduce the density of the wall panel. The foundation wall panels are easily placed and interconnected together to quickly provide a foundation adapted to support the main walls of a home, for example. The foundation panels in one embodiment generally include a facewall that may have at least one carbon fiber band positioned horizontally therethrough to provide additional stiffness.

  • Publication number: 20080311379
Abstract: A reinforced low density material is provided that includes a reinforcing mesh or other geometry. The reinforcing mesh in one embodiment of the present invention is comprised of an arrangement of glass fibers that are coated with a polymer. The insulative material is formed by placing the reinforcing mesh within a mold, wherein the introduction of a heated expanded polystyrene, for example causes the coating on the reinforced mesh 1 to bond with the polystyrene to create a reinforced insulative material after the composite material cools.

  • Publication number: 20080276559
Abstract: An insulated wall panel is provided that employs a plurality of spaced insulated members that define cavities within the body of the wall panel. The insulation panels that form the cavities may be constructed of a reinforced insulating material, such as expanded polystyrene. The insulated wall panels may include a reinforcing mesh, preferably fiberglass coated with PVC embedded within the body of the EPS foam during fabrication. The strengthened EPS foam blocks have the advantage of being lightweight and very durable, thereby reducing handling damage, for example.

  • Publication number: 20080104913
Abstract: A wall panel is provided that is comprised of a plurality of spaced foam insulative blocks. Between each block is a metal stud that spans the height of the wall panel and provides sufficient strength to counteract any compressive loads the wall panel may encounter. The presence of the insulation panels provides large surface areas for the receipt of a thin layer of cementious or gypsum based material that is adapted to receive nails and be easily cut. In addition, the decreased weight of the exterior wall allows for the omission of reinforcing internal structure within the exterior wall which is found in the prior art, thereby providing a lightweight and easy to fabricate wall.
