  • Publication number: 20030154662
Abstract: A decking system, decking components and an installed deck for use on a support structure. The decking system comprises hollow profile planking units having anchor flanges on opposite edges that cooperate with an anchor structure to form a deck or platform. The flanges and the anchor units are shaped and configured to closely interact and form an installed platform structure. The planks comprise an extruded thermoplastic wood fiber composite having an internal structure sufficient to withstand installation, engineering forces placed on the installed platform, weathering and use. The anchor structures have a shape that conforms to the anchor flanges on the decking profiles to hold the deck in place.

  • Patent number: 5566507
Abstract: A window having a frame with at least two oppositely disposed side members, a top member, and a bottom member. Operably connected to each frame side member is a jamb liner having a front face and at least one jamb channel. Mounted within the frame is at least one sash having two oppositely disposed sides. The sash tilts away from the frame for easy cleaning. Within each jamb channel is a locking slide block for slidably and rotatably mounting the sash to the frame. A plough extends from the face of each jamb liner in the direction of the opposite frame side member. Each side of the sash has a sash groove for slidably mounting the sash in the frame by receiving adjacent ploughs. The plough and sash grooves have interlocking edges which engage to resist unintentional tilting of the sash.

  • Patent number: 5086601
Abstract: The present invention is a joint structure which is particularly adapted for the construction of a frame for windows and doors. The joint structure includes a tenon which is cooperatively connected to a first portion at a mortise which is formed in a second portion. The mortise is positioned and sized to receive the tenon. A first groove is formed in the tenon and is transverse to the tenon. A second groove is formed in the second portion wherein when the tenon is inserted into the mortise, the second groove is aligned with the first groove to form a dowel cavity. A locking dowel pin is inserted into the dowel cavity and provides a resistance to sheer force along substantially the length of the pin.

  • Patent number: 5010708
Abstract: The present invention comprises a corner fastener for securing a first and second frame member together to form a corner of a frame. The corner fastener, in one embodiment, includes a first leg member cooperatively connected to a second leg member. Proximal sections of the leg members have raised surfaces which act as a pivoting point when the corner lock is utilized. In addition, the leg members have distal sections which are deformable, during installation, to assist in the alignment and adjustment of the mitre angle.
