  • Patent number: 6788688
Abstract: In a telecommunications network environment including non-participating elements and participating elements, a method for providing a telecommunications service between a first peer element connected to the telecommunications network environment and a second peer element connected to the telecommunications network. At a first peer element, an indication of the type of telecommunications service to be provided between the first peer element and the second peer element is received. A telecommunications service template in association with the indicated telecommunications service is determined, the telecommunications service template including instructions for configuring the non-participating elements of the telecommunications network environment to provide the indicated telecommunications service and instructions for configuring the participating elements of the telecommunications network environment.

  • Patent number: 4838035
Abstract: An improved cryopump for the removal of gases from a high vacuum, comprising a cryopanel incorporating honeycomb structure, refrigerant means thermally connected to the cryopanel, and a rotatable channel moving azimuthally around an axis located near the center of the cryopanel, removing gases absorbed within the honeycomb structure by subliming them and conducting them outside the vacuum vessel.

  • Patent number: 4140931
Abstract: An improved electrode for use as a current collector in the channel of a magnetohydrodynamid (MHD) generator utilizes an elongated monolithic cap of dense refractory material compliantly mounted to the MHD channel frame for collecting the current. The cap has a central longitudinal channel which contains a first layer of porous refractory ceramic as a high-temperature current leadout from the cap and a second layer of resilient wire mesh in contact with the first layer as a low-temperature current leadout between the first layer and the frame. Also described is a monolithic ceramic insulator compliantly mounted to the frame parallel to the electrode by a plurality of flexible metal strips.

  • Patent number: 4043250
Abstract: This invention relates to new and improved methods and modular apparatus automatically latching, unlatching and resetting of the latch mechanism of gun tubes of weapon systems of the "soft recoil" type having recoil and counterrecoil functions or cycles by utilization of a plunger latch mechanism which is pivotally actuatable by toggle means to unlatch the gun tube and permit movement of the gun tube to its firing position in the direction of the muzzle of the gun. The toggle means resets the latch to its latch position automatically in response to the relative position of the gun tube during movement thereof to its firing position. The plunger, being moved from its latch position by the gun tube during recoil movement of the gun tube, returns automatically to its latch position in response to the relative position of the gun tube during recoil so that the plunger is again in its latch position when engaged by the gun tube during its counterrecoil movement.

  • Patent number: 4033228
Abstract: "Soft Recoil" type weapon systems automatically fire from out of battery positions, i.e., while moving in the counterrecoil direction of conventional recoil weapon systems, in response to the zone setting of a velocity sensor firing pin actuator. The present invention comprises a zone setting assembly with a temperature compensator which has a manually actuable control handle carrying an indexing means, such as pins, and a pointer or indicator. The handle is indirectly connected to the actuator shaft of the velocity sensor valving system so that pivoting movement of the handle rotates the sensor shaft to set the sensor valving, whereby the firing pin is actuated to initiate firing in response to the zone setting of the handle visually indicated by the pointer on a fixed dial plate carrying zone indicia. The pins are utilized to latch the handle prior to firing when the pointer is in position indicating the appropriate zone on the dial face.
