    Abstract: A gymnastic mat capable of simple assembly and disassembly for compact storage. Cushioning material is contained within a readily disassemblable rigid frame. A cover of flexible material is attached to the top of the frame by elastic tie-down devices to contain the cushioning material within the frame and maintain a taut and wrinkle-free surface.
