  • Patent number: 4343076
Abstract: Terminal pins, mounted on bandoliers, for treatment and other purposes, are removed rapidly from the bandolier, without bending or changing the end-to-end orientation. The bandolier is pulled at speed through a tool having a slot for the bandolier, a rib extending into the slot and having a chamfered leading or front edge. The chamfered end enters a clearance between pin and bandolier, the pin being forced away from the bandolier while the bandolier is held down by the rib. The pins are removed at high speed and hit an inclined surface extending over the chamfered end to be deflected sideways through a passage. The pins exit from the passage and can be fed to an assembly machine, loading apparatus or storage containers. Air may be blown through the passage to assist in removing the pins.

  • Patent number: 4286121
Abstract: A manual cutover apparatus activates a plurality of circuit boards in an equipment frame in a telephone switching facility. Each circuit board is provided with a manually operable switch for inhibiting the function of the circuit or disabling a line termination at the circuit board, while the switch is in contact with an elongated control member. The control member spans the board locations in the frame and is held in place by slots in a connector shroud at each board position. When the frame is empty of circuit boards, the control member is inserted into slots in the equipment frame. After the required circuit boards are placed in the frame, these boards are activated by the withdrawal of the control member through a hole in a frame member at one end of the frame. The switch includes a base with a pair of terminals and a cantilever spring switch member extending over a groove in the base.

  • Patent number: 4152042
Abstract: A box terminal, particularly for card edge receptacles in telecommunications systems is in the form of a hollow box structure having opposed lever arms with contact areas at the ends of the arms, and with opposed formations on a plane normal to the plane containing the lever arms. The opposed formations restrict lateral displacement of a pin entering the box and, with the beams, restrict rotational displacement of a pin. Contact occurs on at least two prime surfaces, that is on flat surfaces. The beams are preloaded to control insertion forces.
