  • Patent number: 6854546
Abstract: A power machine having a frame and a cab rotatably coupled to the frame at a pivot axis for movement from a working position to a raised position. A first spring and a second spring both extendable from a first length to a second longer length are connected to the frame at opposite sides of the cab to assist in moving the cab from its working position. A third spring is connected to one of the sides of the cab, and is also extendable from a first length to a second longer length. The third spring is coupled to the frame and the cab, and provides an additional assisting force as the cab initially starts pivoting and becomes ineffective as the cab nears its raised position.

  • Patent number: 6431049
Abstract: A double acting actuator is used for operating a pair of latches, and is controlled through a manifold that will permit a base end of the actuator to remain under pressure, and accommodate valve and piston leakage by connecting the rod end of the actuator to drain through a small orifice. The manifold additionally has relief valves for providing different pressures for the rod and base ends of the actuator, and a flow divider that provides a low flow to the actuator while the main flow from a pump is used for other hydraulic components.

  • Patent number: 6257359
Abstract: A skid steer loader has an engine compartment that is enclosed with walls, and an engine mounted in the engine compartment. The engine has components such as an exhaust manifold and a muffler inside the engine compartment which can get quite hot under certain operating conditions. A radial fan is provided for withdrawing air from the engine compartment and discharging it to ambient conditions to reduce the temperature in the engine compartment. The fan is in a housing that has apertures that directs air under pressure against the exhaust manifold and muffler and other hot components of the engine to reduce the maximum temperature such components reach.

  • Patent number: 4148366
Abstract: A hydraulically actuated auger is adapted for mounting on a skid steer vehicle. The auger includes a hydraulic drive motor for driving the main drive shaft of the implement as well as an auxiliary drive shaft interconnected with the main shaft by multiple chain and sprocket drives disposed therebetween. An augering tool is mountable on one or the other of the output shafts of the implement. Use of the appropriate chain and sprocket drive with the hydraulic output of the drive motor permits variable speed settings for the hydraulic auger.

  • Patent number: 4117944
Abstract: A backhoe mounting assembly for a skid steer loader. A backhoe mounting assembly is provided for securing a backhoe to the front end of a skid steer loader at a forward end portion of the boom lift arms of the loader. A latch attachment provided on the frame of the loader engages an upper part of the mounting assembly and an implement carrying attachment on the loader lift arms engages the lower part of the assembly. Provision is made in the mounting assembly for disabling both the boom lift arms and a tilt cylinder associated with the implement carrying attachment when the backhoe mounting assembly is secured in place.
