    Abstract: A modular crew cabin system includes a plurality of crew cabin modules interchangeably installable within a plurality of spaces within one or more decks of a ship. A crew cabin module can include four walls, a ceiling, a floor, an upper bunk, and a lower bunk. The upper bunk and the lower bunk are disposed adjacent to two different walls in an L-shaped configuration. The ceiling includes a lower portion and a pop-up portion disposed above the upper bunk such that a 6-foot-tall occupant can sit up comfortably within either the upper bunk or the lower bunk. The pop-up portion of the ceiling may extend higher than an industry-standard ceiling height while permitting utility conduits to be routed over the lower portion of the ceiling. Storage space within the crew cabin module may be greater than one cubic meter.
