Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) presents a primary icon in a minimal visual area of a video display screen of a computer. Selecting the primary icon directs the computer to display a line of segments, where each segment associated with one or more software programs or electronic documents. The GUI allows a user to directly access items of visual and/or audio media by selecting one or more documents or software programs associated with a selected segment. The GUI optionally allows selected a line or segment for transmission from the computer to another computer, wherein copies one or more documents or software applications are transmitted to the second computer.

Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium are provided for configuring a computer to behave in accordance with a profile associated with a selected user account. A profile server includes (a.) means to store the profile in a server of an electronic communications network; and (b.) means to enable a user to download the profile to a computer via the electronic communications network, whereby the recipient computer is enabled to generate a user experience in interaction with the user.

Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable media for exchanging information via an electronics communications are provided. A computer includes a memory and an access logic are bi-directionally communicatively coupled with a controller. The memory includes an open memory area and a partitioned memory area, wherein the open area available is for use by the controller upon an initial sale, installation or start-up. The access logic is configured to enable access to the partitioned memory by the controller after a receipt by the access logic of an access purchase confirmation. The computer may be coupled with an electronics communications network, such as the Internet, and the access purchase confirmation may be delivered via the electronics communications network. The access to partitioned area may optionally be enabled on a temporary or a segmented basis.

Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium are provided for deleting software from a computational device, such as a personal computer, a cell phone or a personal digital assistant. The invented method includes (a.) providing a visual representation of application icons associated with a demo center icon, each icon having a one-to-one correspondence with at least one software application; (b.) enabling a user to select an icon; and (c.) directing the at least one computational device to delete the software application associated with the selected icon from the computational device. The software application may be provided in an operational state of (1.) being incomplete and requiring additional software encoded instructions to be read into the computer in order to at least partially function; (2.) being complete and enabled to operate only within a trial period; or (3.) being complete and requiring a purchase for operation or use.

Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable medium are provided for enabling the organization, presentation and selection of icons related to information technology processes. In a first version, icons related to individual information technology processes are associated with an enclosing icon displayed by a computer. The user may direct the computer to display or cease displaying the icons by selecting the enclosing icon. In a second version the enclosing icon may be associated with another enclosing icon, wherein icons are organized into a presentation hierarchy. In a third version, the icons may be personalized by associating textual, graphical and/or photographic data as provided by the user.
