Patent number: 11952069Abstract: A cycling computer includes a housing for enclosing an electronics package and a mount for removably securing the housing to the front of a bicycle. The housing has a wedge-shaped profile defined by a leading edge and a lower front surface extending rearward and downward to a bottom surface. The computer mount includes a cradle for removably receiving the housing. A bracket arm extends between the cradle and a mounting adapter which is used to connect to a handlebar or otherwise. The cradle further includes a curved underside surface extending rearward from a forward edge that is sized and shaped to align with the lower front surface of the computer housing to form a substantially smooth and continuous aerodynamic surface from the leading edge of the computer housing to a rear edge of the cradle.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Wahoo Fitness LLCInventors: Harold M. Patent number: 11931622Abstract: An indoor, stationary, bicycle training device that provides advantages over conventional designs of exercise bicycles is provided. The stationary bicycle may include a tilting/pivoting mechanism to orient the indoor bicycle to simulate descending or climbing. The indoor bicycle may include flexible and resilient frame elements to support the indoor training device to move side-to-side under some riding situations thereby simulating the side-to-side swaying motion of an outdoor bicycle under the same riding situations. The indoor bicycle may include several combinations of frame adjustments to provide configurable dimensions of the indoor bicycle to adjust the frame to properly fit the rider, which may be adjusted based on corresponding dimensions of a user's outdoor bicycle. Still other aspects of the stationary bicycle device may aid in creating an “outdoor” feeling while using the device.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2020Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Wahoo Fitness LLCInventors: Harold M. Hawkins, III, Michael Carlson

Publication number: 20230347226Abstract: A bicycle trainer including folding legs and a vertically adjustable frame member supporting an axle and cassette where a rider mounts the rear frame, such as dropouts, of a conventional bicycle with the rear wheel removed. The trainer includes a flywheel with a magnetic brake assembly controlled through an open protocol and configured to receive wireless transmitted signals from an app running on a smart phone or other such applications. The flywheel assembly also includes a bracket coupling the magnetic brake with a frame. A strain gauge is mounted on the bracket to detect torque, which is used to calculate a rider's power while using the trainer.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2023Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Harold M. HAWKINS, III, Andrew P. LULL

Publication number: 20230338773Abstract: A stationary indoor “smart” training bicycle includes a unique combination of adjustable components to provide configurable dimensions to adjust the frame size of the indoor bicycle to properly fit a rider. A system is also provided to process a digital image of an outdoor bicycle and determine and translate dimensions and adjustments to the indoor bicycle to match one or more dimensions (lengths, angles, separations, etc.) of the outdoor bicycle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2022Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventor: Harold M. HAWKINS, III

Publication number: 20220342452Abstract: A cover system for a housing, such as a computing device housing, includes a channel defined by a housing and including each of a first opening and a second opening. The channel includes a first portion and a second portion separated by an aperture. During use, a protrusion of a cover is inserted through the aperture from the first portion of the channel into the second portion of the channel. The tip and aperture are sized such that the aperture retains the tip in the second portion of the channel after insertion. In the event the tip breaks off of the protrusion within the channel, each of the second portion and the second opening are sized and shaped to permit rapid removal of the tip from within the channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2022Publication date: October 27, 2022Inventors: Harold M. HAWKINS III, William A. HAMMOND, Shane A. BYLER, Edward F. HICKS, William C. PHELPS, III

Patent number: 11395948Abstract: A training device for use with a bicycle includes a shuttle guide member including a lower end and an upper end that define an axis therebetween. A shuttle is operably coupleable to a front end of the bicycle and translatable along the axis by a drive coupled to the shuttle. When coupled to the front end of the bicycle, translation of the shuttle along the axis by the drive results in each of a rotation of the shuttle guide member about a pivot and a change in elevation of the front end of the bicycle.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2020Date of Patent: July 26, 2022Assignee: Wahoo Fitness, LLCInventors: Harold M. Hawkins, III, Jose R. Mendez, Shane A. Byler, Michael J. Carlson, Megan K. Powers
