  • Patent number: 5346077
Abstract: An assembly for a wire shelf is disclosed including a novel cantilever bracket for mounting to a vertical wall support bracket. The cantilever bracket includes an inner nesting receptacle and one or more relatively positioned grooves that preclude the wire shelf from pivoting outward when excess weight is placed on the outer or front portion of the shelf. The cantilever bracket maintains the wire shelf in a safe position by restraining the inner portion of the shelf and preventing the upward pivotal movement thereof.

  • Patent number: 4886236
Abstract: A support for a shelf having a top surface, a bottom surface, a rear wall, and a front wall. The support includes a bracket having a throat for receiving the rear wall of a shelf; and one or more wedges for being inserted between the shelf and the throat of the bracket after the rear wall of the shelf has been received by the throat of the bracket to fix the shelf to the bracket. The shelf is attached to a wall by securing the bracket secured to the support member at the desired location; inserting the rear wall of the shelf into the throat of the bracket until the rear wall is adjacent the rear of the throat; and then inserting one or more wedge members into the throat of the bracket between the top surface of the shelf and the bottom surface of an upper arm of the bracket to fix the shelf to the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4821892
Abstract: A shelving system comprising a shelf, a vertical support structure, and a shelf bracket. The shelf bracket consists of a base member and a fastener to secure the base member to a vertical support structure, a lower support ledge extending outwardly from the base member, and an upper gripper arm also extending outwardly from the base member. The upper gripper arm and lower support ledge are arranged to form an opening therebetween for the reception of a shelf. A knife edge is formed an integral part of the upper gripper arm and is arranged to penetrate and mechanically interlock with the shelf, which interlocking increases with increased cantilever loading of the shelf.
