    Abstract: A method and apparatus for combining data from first and second separate data transceivers onto a common data link. The method involves transceiving data at the first data transceiver using the common communications link, at regular intervals of time, and monitoring the common communications link to identify idle periods during which data associated with the first data transceiver is not present. The second data transceiver is synchronized with a corresponding transceiver in communication with the common communications link and communications are established between the second data transceiver and the corresponding transceiver, during the idle periods.

    Abstract: A brake plate is swingably carried on the base of a snow ski for automatic deployment upon initial rearward movement of the ski. A pivot pin permits arcuate movement of the brake plate, between limit stops, about an axis transversely disposed of the ski. The pivot pin is recessed in the bottom of the ski. A base plate also may be inset into the base of the ski.

    Abstract: A generally laminar cover member extends between the sidewalls, end wall, and tailgate of the bed of a pickup truck and is removably secured to at least one of the sidewalls and end wall. The cover member is formed of a rigid material adapted to bear a load and is secured to the sidewalls in a location to leave at least 75% of the bed volume under the cover usable for storage. At least one leg member is secured to one side of the cover member, the leg members being selectively extendable to permit use of the cover as a table when the cover is removed from the bed of the pickup truck.

    Abstract: In a separable mortar round of the type having a central cartridge chamber ithin the boom portion and provided with a plurality of flash holes extending outwardly of the chamber that improvement, which includes an adhesively bonded thin stainless steel foil disposed about the inner wall of the chamber and closing over the flash holes to provide increased liquid impermeability. The method of applying the aforesaid foil to the chamber wall by wrapping a foil on a hollow mandrel having a plurality of surface openings and applying a vacuum to said mandrel while simultaneously wrapping the foil thereabout. Coating both the foil and the inner chamber wall with an adhesive and inserting said mandrel into the separated boom for aligned disposition in the chamber. Thereafter gaseously sealing the mandrel in the chamber, releasing the vacuum, applying positive pressure to the mandrel and removing the same from the chamber.
