  • Patent number: 8098591
Abstract: A base station includes a transceiver, memory, and processor. The transceiver communicates with mobile stations. The memory stores a database of threshold CINR values. The processor implements a scheduling module. The transceiver receives a request to connect from a mobile station. The scheduling module obtains actual CINR and RSSI values for the mobile station. The scheduling module compares the actual CINR value with a threshold CINR value retrieved from the database based on the actual RSSI value. When the actual CINR value is greater than the threshold CINR value for the actual RSSI value, the scheduling module assigns the mobile station one or more subcarriers from a fully used zone of subcarriers. When the actual CINR value is not greater than the threshold CINR value for the actual RSSI value, the scheduling module assigns the mobile station one or more subcarriers from a segmented zone of subcarriers.

  • Publication number: 20110089345
Abstract: In the field of semiconductor production using shaped beam charged particle beam lithography, a pattern is formed on a surface by dragging a charged particle beam across the surface in a single extended shot to form a track. In some embodiments, the track may form a straight path, a curved path, or a perimeter of a curvilinear shape. In other embodiments, the width of the track may be altered by varying the velocity of the dragged beam. The techniques may be used for manufacturing an integrated circuit by dragging a charged particle beam across a resist-coated wafer to transfer a pattern to the wafer, or by dragging a charged particle beam across a reticle, where the reticle is used to manufacture a photomask which is then used to transfer a pattern to a wafer using an optical lithographic process.

  • Patent number: 7928997
Abstract: Digital Image compositing using a programmable graphics processor is described. The programmable graphics processor supports high-precision data formats and can be programmed to complete a plurality of compositing operations in a single pass through a fragment processing pipeline within the programmable graphics processor. Source images for one or more compositing operations are stored in graphics memory, and a resulting composited image is output or stored in graphics memory. More-complex compositing operations, such as blur, warping, morphing, and the like, can be completed in multiple passes through the fragment processing pipeline. A composited image produced during a pass through the fragment processing pipeline is stored in graphics memory and is available as a source image for a subsequent pass.

  • Patent number: 7912138
Abstract: A multipoint-to-point, orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) communication system is provided. The system includes a plurality of remote units and a host unit that includes a demodulator. Each of the remote units transmits an upstream OFDM signal using a multiple access scheme to the host unit demodulator using at least one of a plurality of orthogonal tones within an OFDM waveform. The host unit receives the upstream OFDM signals from a plurality of the remote units, the tones of the upstream signals being substantially orthogonal when received at the host unit. Portions of upstream OFDM signals from at least two of the remote units arrive at the host unit at the same time. The host unit demodulator demodulates the portions of the upstream OFDM signals.

  • Patent number: 7911471
Abstract: A method and apparatus for executing loop and branch program instructions in a programmable graphics shader. The programmable graphics shader converts a sequence of instructions comprising a portion of a shader program and selects a first set of fragments to be processed. Subsequent sequences of instructions are converted until all of the instructions comprising the shader program have been executed on the first set of fragments. Each remaining set of fragments is processed by the shader program until all of the fragments are processed in the same manner. Furthermore, the instructions can contain one or more loop or branch program instructions that are conditionally executed. Additionally, when instructions within a loop as defined by a loop instruction are being executed a current loop count is pipelined through the programmable graphics shader and used as an index to access graphics memory.

  • Publication number: 20110051709
Abstract: A base station receives a connection request from a mobile station. A scheduling module determines whether the fully used and/or segmented zones of the base station are oversubscribed. If the fully used zone is oversubscribed while the segmented zone is not, the mobile station having the largest CINR difference between the zones is assigned to the segmented zone. If the segmented zone is oversubscribed while the fully used zone is not, the mobile station having the smallest CINR difference between the zones is assigned to the fully used zone. If neither zone is oversubscribed and the segmented zone allows modulation/coding more spectrally efficient than the fully used zone, the requesting mobile station is assigned to the segmented zone. If neither zone is oversubscribed and the segmented zone does not allow modulation/coding more spectrally efficient than the fully used zone, the requesting mobile station is assigned to the fully used zone.
