Patent number: 10857425Abstract: A resistance-band exercise monitoring device includes a first force sensor that senses a first force applied to a first resistance band, a second force sensor that senses a second force applied to a second resistance band, a single electronics module with a single transceiver for wirelessly communicating with a remote device, and a flexible strap physically coupling with the first and second resistance bands. The flexible strap has conductive pathways electrically coupling the force sensors to the single electronics module. The single electronics module communicates values indicative of the first and second forces to the remote device via the single transceiver. The flexible strap does not stretch and protects the conductive pathways from excessive stress. The resistance-band exercise monitoring device may be configured in multiple ways to perform a wide variety of exercises.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2019Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Inventor: Rodney Harold Thomas

Patent number: 9494343Abstract: A partially non-rigid solar capture mounting system which reduces the risk of damage due to wind is disclosed. The solar capture mounting system includes at least one pole, a horizontal beam mounted to the pole, and at least one backing plate hanging from the horizontal beam via a pivotal connection. Examples of pivotal connection are bushings with ball bearings, hinges, steel rings and spring clips. Each of the backing plates supports at least one solar cell. Wind pressure against a backing plate pivots the backing plate about the horizontal beam such that the system experiences reduced stress and reduced risk of damage due to wind and wind carried objects.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2010Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Inventor: Rodney Harold Thomas

Patent number: 8370214Abstract: The present invention provides a method and computer-readable medium for executing a method of placing an order for a sub-component (part) of a product, including generally three steps: displaying a diagram depicting sub-components of a product in an exploded view on a user screen; receiving a user selection of a sub-component to be ordered; and processing the selection of a sub-component to be ordered. Optionally, the method may allow the user to selectively view further information pertinent to displayed sub-components, such as their prices and specifications, or to selectively zoom in on and zoom out of the exploded view or to scroll the exploded view. The method thus assists the user when attempting to identify and/or order a sub-component for the product. The method may also be implemented in a stand-alone computer system.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2012Date of Patent: February 5, 2013Assignee: Mariner Supply, Inc.Inventors: Harold Thomas Cook, Jr., Keith David Fetterman, David Earl White

Patent number: 8213489Abstract: The invention provides a communication protocol and serial interface having an approximately fixed interface clock and capable of accommodating a variety of communication rates. The interface employs a variable-length frame that may be expanded or reduced to obtain a desired communication rate, even though the interface clock rate is held approximately constant. The invention further provides a method for designing an agile barrier interface. In particular, the barrier clock rate is preferably selected to be an approximate common multiple of the various communication rates that the barrier interface must handle. The frame length corresponding to each communication rate may then be obtained by dividing the barrier clock rate by the ?? rate. Finally, the invention provides an agile barrier capable of communicating data across a serial interface at a variety of data rates and at an approximately fixed interface clock rate.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2005Date of Patent: July 3, 2012Assignee: Agere Systems Inc.Inventors: King-Hon Lau, Johannes G.
