  • Patent number: 5335157
Abstract: A compact and highly efficient warning light for producing high intensity light pulses which are radiated in accordance with a desired directional pattern includes a light source and a pair of reflectors disposed within a lens cover. The reflectors each include plural parabolic reflective surfaces distributed about an axis with the surfaces having a common focal point located on the axis. The two reflectors are coaxial and the common focal points of the surfaces thereof coincide.

  • Patent number: 5230560
Abstract: A compact and highly efficient warning light for producing high intensity light pulses which are radiated in accordance with a desired directional pattern includes a light source and at least a first reflector disposed within a lens cover. The reflector is coaxial with the lens cover, includes plural parabolic reflective surfaces arranged in a symmetrical pattern and having a common focal point located on the axis of the lens cover, and reflects light in directions which are generally transverse to the lens cover axis. The lens cover is provided with internal optics which redirects light emitted by the source which is not reflected, such redirected light also being radiated in directions generally transverse to the lens cover axis.

  • Patent number: 5160874
Abstract: A modular-type lightbar assembly has an elongated base having a bottom panel and a pair of oblique integrally extending front and rear sides. Lens elements are mounted to the base and a cover by lock and groove-type connections. Warning beacon units are mounted to platforms supported on base. The beacon units rotate for sequentially directing light through the front and rear lens elements. The beacon units have an efficient integral base which mounts the rotating beacon and a brush assembly for the motor. An electronic controller is employed to apply a pulse width modulated current to the beacon motor so that a fast and slow motor speed may be selected.

  • Patent number: 5040103
Abstract: A light assembly for wide area illumination employs a lens insert having a pair of opposed surfaces. One surface of the insert is defined by a series of closely spaced parallel prismatic refractors for directing light incident thereon generally in a first direction. The light assembly also includes arrays of optical elements for spreading light passing through the refractors in a pair of mutually orthogonal directions.

  • Patent number: 4985814
Abstract: A dual emitter light assembly employs a reflector having a pair of adjoining concave reflector dishes. Each dish comprises a pair of angularly related parabolic reflective surfaces. The dishes intersect along a central parabolic path which lies in a plane perpendicular to a plane defined by the parallel axes of light emitter receiving sockets which are integral with each dish.

  • Patent number: 4942503
Abstract: An assembly having a gaseous discharge tube and circuitry therefore that is operable for providing light signals for the control of traffic control lights. The assembly is mountable as a part of a light bar assembly of the type mounted on police vehicles. The assembly includes a U-shaped channel member having a hollow protrusion with an opening with the gaseous discharge tube and the reflector therefor secured to the U-shaped member at the opening with the circuitry, which is mounted on a circuit board, carried by a support member that is secured to the U-shaped channel member. The support member has a portion that prevents moisture from reaching the circuitry.

  • Patent number: 4710749
Abstract: An electronic siren includes a driver unit and a speaker unit which are interconnected by a flexible sound pipe. The sound pipe is acoustically coupled to the driver unit and speaker unit by adaptors which provide a substantially smooth transistion from a driver unit to sound pipe and from sound pipe to speaker whereby attenuation is minimized.

  • Patent number: 4524679
Abstract: A valve for directing and controlling the flow of pressurized gas comprises a socket and a spheroidal hollow shell mounted in said socket for swivel motion. The shell interiorly forms a spheroidal socket which receives an axially rotatable valve body. The shell and the valve body respectively have an alignable aperture and gas inlet. The body and shell are rotatable between a closed position and an open position wherein the aperture aligns with the inlet.
