  • Patent number: 12284600
Abstract: A system and method for generating a coordinated set of peripheral devices that possess the ability to connect and disconnect as a coordinated set to each of multiple Information Handling Systems (IHSs). In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include computer-executable instructions to receive an advertisement from a first peripheral device from among a plurality of peripheral devices. Each peripheral device is configured with a common secret group identity key that identifies the peripheral devices as belonging to a coordinated group. When the first peripheral device is recognized as a member of the coordinated group according to the advertisement, perform a discovery operation to identify the first peripheral device and the other peripheral devices using the secret group identity key, and connect the IHS with the first peripheral device and the other peripheral devices that belong to the coordinated set.

  • Publication number: 20250071115
Abstract: Systems and methods provide Information Handling Systems (IHSs) that are restricted to communications with a plurality of allowed network resources. An IHS detects a request for access to a network resource. Upon detecting the request, the IHS identifies a factory-provisioned network address that is stored by the IHS and that specifies a location of an adaptive allow list that specifies a listing of the allowed network resources to which the IHS is restricted. The adaptive allow list is loaded from the factory-provisioned network address and used to reject the request for access to the network resource when the network resource is not in the listing of allowed network resources from the adaptive allow list. Through modifications to the adaptive allow lists, administrators can modify the network resource that may be accessed by the IHS.

  • Publication number: 20250031064
Abstract: In auto-configuration of dense mesh networks an Information Handling System (IHS) runs an advertisement service when the IHS is powered on and transmits a wireless local area network beacon information element that includes wireless node IHS specific information. The IHS dynamically scales transmit power of advertisement packets, from a low power. In response to the IHS finding a cluster host, the IHS accepts configuration of the IHS with an identification for a cluster of the cluster host and a frequency channel within the cluster. In response to the IHS not finding a cluster host, the IHS identifies as a new (cluster) host IHS and defines an identification for the new cluster. The cluster identification may be a Basic Secure Set (BSS) color field of the information element. Defining the identification for a cluster may use a distributed cluster policy, or may use a centralized managed cluster policy.

  • Publication number: 20240430672
Abstract: For endpoint Information Handling System (IHS) configuration based on network context, the IHS may use a discovery network service to find a location of an encrypted (and signed using public key infrastructure) options document, decrypted and validate the options document using the public encryption key, and use (a) option(s) from the resultingly decrypted options document to modify behavior of the IHS. The IHS may use the discovery network service to determine the IHS's environment, prior to using the discovery network service to find the location of the options document. The IHS may remove the public encryption key, in repose to completion of modification of the IHS's behavior in accordance with the option(s) from the decrypted options document.

  • Publication number: 20240422548
Abstract: In (IT) managed automatic paring, short-range wireless (e.g., Bluetooth®) (peripheral) devices are configured to add an advertisement packet to a short-range wireless device advertisement. A managing Information Handling System (IHS) detects and parses out the advertisement packet from the advertisement, pairs with the device, generates a short-range wireless device identifier using the advertisement packet, stores the device identifier on the managing IHS and the device to establish a device pair identity for the device, and transfers the device identifier to a target IHS to assign the device to the target IHS and provision the target IHS to automatically pair with the device. The managing IHS may then delete resulting pairing information. The target IHS may detect and parse out the advertisement packet from the advertisement, confirm that the target IHS is provisioned to automatically pair with the device, request a pairing passkey, and initiate secure pairing with the device.

  • Publication number: 20240406745
Abstract: Implementing interference avoidance for high density ad hoc networks may include creating ad hoc Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) clusters (WLAN pico-nets) of Information Handling Systems (IHSs) with nonoverlapping channels, enabling each IHS to have a high bandwidth wireless interface, and isolating nearby ad hoc WLAN clusters, using a Basic Secure Set (BSS) color field to associate IHSs within an ad hoc WLAN cluster (which may be preconfigured for each ad hoc WLAN cluster). Physical separation of ad hoc WLAN clusters may be optimized, minimizing cochannel interference, such as through use of dynamic threshold calculations. Nearby ad hoc WLAN clusters may be further isolated by dynamically adjusting transmit power control to isolate nearby ad hoc WLAN clusters, and/or by scaling channel width, such as through Dynamic Throughput Scalar calculations.

  • Patent number: 12101620
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for managing performance optimization of applications executed by an Information Handling System (IHS) are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include computer-executable instructions to receive, by a personal audio device, a plurality of measurements associated with an audio dosage level incurred by a user over a specified period of time, and determine that a cumulative audio dosage level for the specified period of time is excessive. A first portion of the measurements obtained when the audio dosage level is generated by a first audio source and a second portion of the measurements obtained when the audio dosage level is generated by a second audio source. Additionally, the cumulative audio dosage level obtained by combining the first portion and second portion of measurements. When the cumulative audio dosage level is excessive, perform one or more remedial actions to reduce the audio dosage level.
