Abstract: A way is shown for network operators to collaborate in promoting an application. A mediator publishes the application in an application store and the collaborating network operators promote it. The published application is provided to requesting user devices via the application store; and for each of them that is associated with one of the collaborating network operators, the provided application is re-branded with configuration information specific for the network operator associated with the respective user device. In some embodiments the application in the store is branded, if at all, with a default brand that is not specific to any collaborating network operator, and this default brand may be of the collaboration or of the mediator. The configuration information changes the default brand and/or look and feel of the application to that selected by the collaborating network operator that is associated with the respective user device.

Abstract: An example embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus comprising at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least the following: obtain a representation of an appearance of a physical device type; obtain one or more current backgrounds used in a desktop of a specific physical device; and generate a device icon relating to the specific physical device by associating the obtained one or more backgrounds with the representation of appearance of the physical device type, wherein the generated device icon is displayed on a display as a user interface feature.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method, device arrangement and a terminal for transferring a message received in a first terminal in a controlled manner from said first terminal to a second terminal. In the method, the messages are searched for possible references to resources outside the message, and information is downloaded from these resources for later examination.

Abstract: A device (8), such as a multitasking mobile telephone or personal digital assistant (PDA), comprises a processor (15) and a user interface including keys (10, 11) and a display (12). In response to a request from a user to view a menu, the processor (15) compiles a list of menu options and determines the status of applications or functions associated with the menu options. If the menu option relates to an active application, an indicator is added to the list of menu options. The menu is displayed with the active or inactive status of the applications represented using animated icons (26a-c), color of text (25a-c) and/or icons (28a-c), sound, vibration or a combination of two or more of these properties. These properties may also be used to indicate the type of task being performed by an application.

Abstract: A user interface, and an associated method, facilitates operation of a mobile station by a physically-disabled user. In one implementation, concave-shaped face covers are provided for the telephonic keypad of a mobile station to facilitate its usage by a physically-disabled user. In another implementation, the mobile station is provided with a TTY (telecommunications device), also to facilitate operation of the mobile station by a physically-disabled user. And, in another implementation, a location-request signal generator, carriable by a user, generated a location-request signal upon actuation by the user. The mobile station includes a local receiver for receiving the location-request signal and an annunciator for annunciating reception of the location-request signal. If the mobile station becomes misplaced, a user actuates the location-request signal generator, and the annunciation signal generated responsive to detection of such signal at the mobile station facilitates location of the mobile station.

Abstract: A wireless user station (10), such as a cellular telephone, is provided with a touch sensitive input device, such as a touch-sensitive display (20) or a touchpad (23). A display device displays a plurality of symbols. A first location of a tactile input is detected and displayed symbols in the vicinity of the first location of the tactile input are magnified to occupy a larger display area. Subsequently, a second location of the tactile input is detected, thereby identifying a new position of the user's fingertip. After the second location on the touch sensitive screen remains constant, or after the user lifts the fingertip, the second location of the tactile input is reported and associated with the selected symbol.
