  • Patent number: 6438356
Abstract: A method for minimizing the effect of interference in a radio system including a radio system comprises a measuring means which is adapted to measure the transmission frequency of the power control requests transmitted by a base transceiver station to each subscriber terminal. The radio system comprises an attenuation means which is adapted to alter the attenuation of the signals arriving at the reception band of the base transceiver station and which are transmitted by the subscriber terminal, the transmission frequency of power control requests transmitted to which has exceeded a predefined transmission frequency of power control requests.

  • Publication number: 20020102941
Abstract: A method and device for avoiding adjacent channel interference and reducing disconnections caused thereby, during communication between a mobile device and a base station in a wireless telecommunications network. The mobile device measures the strength of a received signal before the signal enters one or more selected filters, and compares the strength of the signal after the filtering, in order to estimate a power ratio of the adjacent channel interference to communication channel power. If the power ratio is greater than a threshold, then a handover is requested to an alternative communication channel available between the mobile device and either the base station or another base station.

  • Publication number: 20020037701
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for minimizing the effect of interference in a radio system, and to a radio system. The radio system comprises a measuring means which is adapted to measure the transmission frequency of the power control requests transmitted by a base transceiver station to each subscriber terminal.

  • Patent number: 6266321
Abstract: To simultaneously transmit data related to two channels using code division data related to a first channel (DTCH) are spread parallely using a first spreading code (CI) and a second spreading code (CQ), data related to a second channel (PCCH) are spread parallely using a first spreading code (CI) and a second spreading code (CQ), the power level of a signal representing said data related to the second channel (PCCH) after the spreading is changed (G) with respect to the power level of a signal representing the data related to the first channel (DTCH) after the spreading, and a transmission is compiled from spread data related to the first channel and spread data related to the second channel the power level of which has been changed.

  • Patent number: 5953675
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for processing information in a wireless local loop (WLL) terminal and a WLL terminal. According to the present invention, a WLL terminal comprises a display device, and character-based information, first data, is converted to second data for displaying it on the display. Said first data is advantageously converted in such a manner that a bitmap (222) is first formed on the basis of the character-based first data and then a line code (223) is formed on the basis of said bitmap. The line code is transferred (224, 225) by means of known facsimile transmission technology to a fax machine serving as a display device and displayed by the fax machine (226). The invention can be applied in wireless local loops to implement services that use information in character format. Such services include the short message service and display of caller data.
