  • Patent number: 10821679
Abstract: A conditioning doctor blade (11) for a fiber web machine contains a number of reinforcement fiber layers (24, 26) laminated on top of one another into an epoxy matrix (20), and silicon carbide particles (21), so that the reinforcement fiber layers (24, 26) have formed a fiber core (22) and surface fiber layers (23) on both sides of the fiber core (22). There is less epoxy matrix (20) in the fiber core (22) than in the surface fiber layers (23).

  • Patent number: 8771473
Abstract: A doctor blade for a fiber web machine (10) includes a blade section (11) and a fastening detent section (12). In the cross-sectional plane, the blade section (11) is asymmetric while the fastening detent section (12) is substantially symmetric so that the doctor blade (10) can be installed in two opposite positions for providing two different functions. The invention also relates to a doctor arrangement in a fiber web machine.

  • Patent number: 7685937
Abstract: A composite doctor blade to be installed in a blade holder (11) containing a throat (15) has a rear part (14) made of a composite material which has a profiling (16) which protrudes beyond the plane (18) defined by the doctor blade in order to retain the doctor blade in the blade holder (11). At a distance from the rear part (14), part (17) of the profiling (16) protrudes from the plane (18) to one side only. Moreover, the part (17) is higher than its width in the cross-sectional plane of the doctor blade.

  • Patent number: 7108766
Abstract: A doctor unit in a paper machine includes a blade carrier having a blade holder fitted to the blade carrier. A doctor blade is mountable in the blade holder to doctor a roll or similar moving surface. The blade holder and/or doctor blade include one or more sensors installed inside the construction or on its surface. The sensors are arranged to measure the wear of and/or stress in the blade holder and/or doctor blade.

  • Patent number: 7013526
Abstract: Equipment and a method for changing a blade which is intended to be placed in a blade holder (10) and which is preferably arranged as a flexible band (16). The equipment has reels (14, 15) for keeping the band (16) reeled and transfer devices (18) for moving the band (16) in the blade holder (10) between the reels (14, 15). The equipment includes guide devices (17) for guiding the band (16) from a reel (14, 15) to the blade holder (10) and vice versa. The guide devices (17) are arranged to turn the band (16) longitudinally to be essentially parallel to the blade holder (10). The closest guide member (20) of the guide members (20, 20?) belonging to the guide devices (17) is rotated to a position that essentially corresponds to the position of the blade holder (10) turned to the blade-changing position.

  • Patent number: 6682012
Abstract: A reeling device (10), has a support base (1), a support arm (2), and a shaft (9′) mounted on the support arm (2). One shaft end has a boss (9) and the other end has a revolving frame (7). Mounted to the device is a transit case (20), within which the used doctor blades (12) of a paper/cardboard machine are reeled on a roll. Raw material is supplied to a blade production plant, where the blades are produced, then transported to a paper/cardboard plant and stored in the plant prior to being mounted in connection with paper/cardboard machine rolls, where their condition is monitored during use. Used doctor blades are removed from the machine, packed in storable form with the reeling device, and are stored in the paper/cardboard plant. The packed used blades are transported away from the paper/cardboard plant and delivered into recycling, reuse or end use.
