  • Publication number: 20230023689
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to nozzles for three-dimensional printing and related assemblies and methods. An example method includes, on a first side of a material, forming a hole into the material to define an at least partially conical inner conduit extending at least partially through the material, and, on a second side of the material, forming a through-hole into the material to define an exit orifice of the nozzle, the exit orifice connecting with the at least partially conical inner conduit to define a fluid pathway through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 8608406
Abstract: A reeled pipe storage reel with a large diameter hollow cylindrical shaft, reel shaft bearing support structures installed on the vessel, and a reel drive arrangement mounted on the vessel. The shaft across the width of the reel provides structural stiffness and consistent alignment of the bearings on each end of the shaft. Each end of the shaft extends beyond the reel and includes a section for connection to a lifting sling, a section for the machine bearing surface, and a section for absorbing initial contact with the vessel during installation. The reel shaft bearing support structures on the vessel include a fixed portion to match the bearing area of the reel shaft and a movable portion to absorb initial contact during installation of the reel. The reel drive arrangement is located on linkages so they can be manipulated in the plane of the reel flange for movement into engagement with the drive gear on the reel flange.

  • Patent number: 8443680
Abstract: An arrangement of elements which are used to restrain and deflect a pipe specimen to a prescribed form with precisely controlled loads. A rigid frame includes a movable pipe bending form to which one end of a pipe specimen is connected and a rotating table to which the second end of the pipe specimen is connected. Means for assessing the drive torque used to draw the pipe specimen over the pipe bending form is provided in the form of a load cell. The rotating table is used in combination with a travelling pipe end truck foundation to generate a bending moment in the pipe specimen in the same plane as the pipe specimen is being bent by the pipe bending form. By the use of precise loads on the pipe specimen, computer analysis of the simulated reeling of the given pipe construction will produce predictions of the reeling tension, shear, and bending moment in the pipe at the point of the travelling pipe end as this point on the pipe approaches contact with the reel.

  • Publication number: 20130087650
Abstract: A reel arrangement on a vessel for storage and laying of flexible product from the vessel offshore. A cartridge, main reel is designed to receive multiple smaller, flexible product standard storage reels in an epicyclic wheel arrangement for storing and laying the flexible product. The cartridge reel is rotated to bring a selected standard product storage reel from a storage position into a laying position where the product may be taken from the product storage reel and laid on the sea floor. A reel drive head is mounted with the product storage reel for laying product and maintaining proper tension on the product during laying operations.

  • Patent number: 6349976
Abstract: A pipe in pipe assembly. A coupling is used to join the ends of the inner pipe. The inner pipe is centralized within the inner pipe to provide axial resistance but minimum restraint transverse to the axis of the assembly. This provides sufficient flexibility of the inner pipe to accommodate the necessary tolerances to permit the use of the coupling. The inner pipe may be centralized within the outer pipe by the use of foam injected between the inner and outer pipe and a corrugated web sleeve around the ends of the inner pipe. The inner pipe may also be centralized within the outer pipe by the use of a corrugated web bulkhead that fits around the inner pipe and within the outer pipe.

  • Patent number: 6349665
Abstract: A drone vessel for an ROV. The drone vessel utilizes dynamic positioning. The drone vessel is remotely controlled by radio telemetry, preferably modular in construction, and may be semi-submersible. The vessel contains a radio telemetry package, one or more generators, an umbilical winch for lowering and raising an ROV, space for receiving and storing an ROV, and ballast control. The central compartment in the drone vessel is free flooding and houses the drum for storing umbilical line and the winch for paying out umbilical line to the ROV. The central compartment also includes space for the ROV.

  • Patent number: 6279501
Abstract: An umbilical constraint mechanism. The mechanism keeps the umbilical line near the center of the payload bay opening when the umbilical line is deployed. The mechanism will transfer lateral umbilical loads into the drone vessel frame near the bottom of the payload bay. A modified cone shaped structure is provided in the payload bay above the normal storage position of the ROV. The cone is mounted on a frame that is capable of sliding up or down in the drone vessel.

  • Patent number: 4951909
Abstract: A pair of suction-held shade brackets are provided in a design whereby the brackets each include depending and curved bracket element holders depending from the back sides of suction cups. The suction cups are intended to be affixed to either glass or wood surfaces, not necessarily conforming, for instance, to window frames, but instead to be affixed on window panes, between window frames. Also, the suction cups can be affixed to materials adjacent window panes, which do not lend themselves readily to screw holes or attachment means, other than suction. Within one of the bracket element holders, a bracket element is provided, which defines a centrally located circular opening, defined by an element whose outer periphery is octagonal in shape, conforming to the shape provided for the element by the element holder.
