  • Patent number: 10080986
Abstract: A “bolt on” static separator is disclosed for use in conjunction with a rotating separator to handle higher liquid volumes that are not able to be effectively separated by the rotating separator alone. The static separator may be positioned upstream of the rotating separator, generally right in front of the rotating separator, i.e., immediately ahead of the inlet to the rotating separator and generally attached directly to the front end of the rotary separator. The static separator may include a significant change in flow path direction that is sufficient to cause coarse fluid separation. The output of the static separator is in communication with the input of the rotating separator. Additionally, the drain of the static separator is in communication with the drain of the rotating separator and is at the same pressure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 2016
Date of Patent: September 25, 2018
    Assignee: DRESSER-RAND COMPANY
Inventors: Pascal Lardy, Harry Allan Kidd, William C. Maier
  • Patent number: 9909597
Abstract: A fluid processing device may include a rotatable shaft, a driver configured to drive the rotatable shaft, a separator installed on the rotatable shaft, and a supersonic compressor fluidly communicating with the separator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 8, 2014
Date of Patent: March 6, 2018
    Assignee: Dresser-Rand Company
Inventors: Bradford W. Dickson, Harry Allan Kidd

  • Patent number: 8672644
Abstract: A supersonic ejector assembly may include a housing manufactured from a solid piece of material, a first ejector assembly positioned in a first bore formed in the housing and secured therein by a first input side flange positioned over an input end of the first bore and an output side flange positioned over an output end of the first bore, and a second ejector assembly positioned in a second bore formed in the housing and secured therein by a second input side flange positioned over an input end of the second bore, the second bore terminating into the first bore proximate a suction input of the first ejector assembly.
