  • Patent number: 12008514
Abstract: Methods and systems for tracking a package within an area obtain package identification information from a scannable medium associated with the package and image information of the area acquired by an optical sensing device. Image processing detects the presence and location of an object in the area that matches the package based on a comparison of the package identification information obtained from the scannable medium with the image information of the area acquired by the optical sensing device. The package is registered as being present in the area at the location of the detected object in response to detecting a match between the object and the package.

  • Publication number: 20240182340
Abstract: A dual-pathway system for CO2 capture in both acidified and basified streams is provided. The system may be embodied in an off-shore stand-alone facility to allow for the operation of oceanic CO2 capture to be more efficient and cost effective. Systems maintain high environmental standards by containing all intermediate acidic and alkaline solutions in a closed system so that the effluent discharged back into the ocean is at the similar pH and salinity as the feed oceanwater, with only CO2 removed. Acid and base produced by an electrodialyzer unit is used to achieve oceanwater decarbonization via gaseous CO2 removal and solid CaCO3 precipitates removal. The system is configured to require the processing of a very small fraction of the total oceanwater intake for the acid-base generation process.

  • Publication number: 20240185113
Abstract: Error detection and correction in a quantum computer are provided. The quantum computer includes qubits encoding a plurality of data qudits and an ancilla qudit. The qubits encoding the plurality of data qudits are arranged into a grouping wherein the qubits encoding each of the data qudits are within an interaction distance of an interacting state of the qubits encoding the ancilla qudit. A leakage error of a first data qudit of the plurality of data qudits into the interacting state is detected by detecting a state of the ancilla qudit. Quantum states of the qudits are selected such that angular momentum selection rules prohibit mixing between the selected quantum states during a leakage error of one of the qudits into a noninteracting state. The leakage error is corrected by optical pumping of the noninteracting state, preserving coherence of the selected quantum states in the absence of the leakage error.
