  • Patent number: 8070786
Abstract: A method of fusing a joint between two bones, comprising boring a hole through one of the bones across the joint therebetween and into the other bone, placing the leading end of a screw into the hole, where the screw has a threaded region having a pitch that is larger toward a leading end of the screw and smaller toward a trailing end of the screw, and driving the screw into the bone until the threaded region spans the joint.

  • Patent number: 8034424
Abstract: A shop horse pad of closed cell foam is cylindrical in shape and having a central radial opening provided therein. An axial slit is provided along the length of the pad that creates two axial edges. A strip of adhesive is arranged along at least one of the axial edges. A covering strip, of preferably cellophane, is provided on the strip of adhesive such that when it is removed, the two axial edges adhere together. In this manner, a user may simply force the pad over the horizontal work tubing of the shop horse and removes the covering strip. Thereafter, the axial edges of the pad are forced together to form a solid pad about the exterior of the horizontal tubing.

  • Patent number: 4943064
Abstract: A dunk tank seat release mechanism is disclosed including a support that is disposable proximate the rear of a dunk tank. A seat is hingably attached to the support and is alternatable between generally horizontal and collapsed positions. A releasable gripping mechanism holds the seat in a generally horizontal position and includes a pair of opposing, pivotably interconnected stationary and movable jaws. A stationary handle is fixed to a stationary jaw and a movable handle is pivotably attached to the movable jaw. The jaws are biased closed when the movable handle is closed relative to the stationary handle to hold the seat. An actuator member extends between the stationary and movable handles generally laterally of the tank. The actuator member has a thickness between the handles such that a spacing of at least 3/8" is provided between the actuator member and the movable handle. A target is mounted to the actuator member to face generally forward of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4863447
Abstract: A vented valve assembly for venting gas from a body collection pouch comprises structure for manually venting the gas from the pouch. The structure for manually venting the gas from the pouch include a housing, the walls of which define a chamber. The housing also includes an inlet and an outlet, the inlet adapted to be connected to the pouch. A valve for venting the gas from the pouch through the chamber from the inlet to the outlet is also provided which includes a valve seat located in the chamber adjacent the inlet, a valve stem extending in the chamber, a button attached to one end of the valve stem and extending out from the outlet, and a valve element attached to the other end of the valve stem and of a diameter smaller than that of the valve seat. The valve element being moveable between a closed position in close fit engagement with the valve seat and an open position remote from the valve seat upon the displacement of the button.
