Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable storage medium related to operating an intelligent digital assistant are disclosed. A text string is obtained from a speech input received from a user. The received text string is interpreted to derive a representation of user intent based at least in part on a plurality of words associated with a user and stored in memory associated with the user, the plurality of words including words from a plurality of user interactions with an automated assistant. At least one domain, a task, and at least one parameter for the task, are identified based at least in part on the representation of user intent. The identified task is performed. • Patent number: 8812316
Abstract: A speech control system that can recognize a spoken command and associated words (such as “call mom at home”) and can cause a selected application (such as a telephone dialer) to execute the command to cause a data processing system, such as a smartphone, to perform an operation based on the command (such as look up mom's phone number at home and dial it to establish a telephone call). • Publication number: 20130095753
Abstract: Systems and methods of managing pairing information associated with peer-to-peer device pairings are disclosed herein. The pairing information can include link keys or other configuration data associated with the peer-to-peer device pairing. The system can detect that a first electronic device has paired with a second electronic device via a peer-to-peer device pairing connection. The first electronic device can store pairing information associated with the peer-to-peer device pairing. The system can determine a first time associated with when the peer-to-peer device pairing terminates. For example, the system can determine that a peer-to-peer activity has terminated, that a timeout period has elapsed, or any other event indicative of a termination of a peer-to-peer device pairing.

  • Patent number: 6525650
Abstract: A high density electronic switching matrix (ESM) includes several splitting modules (200) arranged along a first axis, each including a signal input (202) and several splitter outputs (204). The ESM (500, 600) further includes several switching modules (400) arranged along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. Each switching module (400) includes switching inputs (402) coupled individually to an output of each of the splitting modules (200). The ESM (500, 600) is further characterized by couplings between the splitter modules and the switching modules. The couplings are formed by mating male and female connectors (300) integrated into the splitting modules and the switching modules. The couplings support extremely high frequency operation. The splitting modules (200) and the switching modules (400) may thus be coupled closely together to form a dense, high frequency, switching matrix, and may be stacked upon one another.

  • Patent number: 6404404
Abstract: A phased antenna array (60) for use on a satellite, that employs a density tapering technique for positioning the antenna elements (62) in the array (60) to reduce co-channel interference between adjacent cells. Particularly, the spatial position of the various antenna elements (62) in the array (60) are spread out so that the center portion of the array (60) has the highest density of elements (62), and the outer portion of the array (60) has the lowest density of elements (62). Predetermined schemes are used to set the density of the elements (62) in the array (60). By providing fewer antenna elements (62) at the outer portion of the array (60), the beam side lobes are reduced.

  • Patent number: 5870060
Abstract: A steerable feeder link antenna is formed of a steerable reflector and a stationary feed horn assembly. A novel feed horn assembly allows dual mode transmit and receive functions for circularly polarized microwaves. The feed horn assembly includes a four arm turnstile junction coupled to a feed horn through the feed horn's side wall to couple transmit frequencies and an axially coupled transmission line for the receive frequencies. Each turnstile junction arm incorporates chokes for the receive frequencies. The transmission line's cut off frequency is above the transmit frequency to prevent transmit signals from interfering with receive signal receivers.

  • Patent number: 5736907
Abstract: A travelling wave coupler autotracking system 10 controls the pointing of an antenna aboard an orbiting satellite by generating tracking signals covering a wideband frequency. The system 10 comprises a waveguide manifold 22 for exciting circular TE.sub.11 and TM.sub.01 modes covering a wideband frequency range, coupling arm waveguides 24, 26 for propagating signals having a phase velocity of TE.sub.10 mode that is the same as the phase velocity of TM.sub.01 mode, and couplers 30 for transforming microwave energy of the TM.sub.01 mode of the circularly polarized microwave signals into TE.sub.10 modes in the coupling waveguide. The system 10 can further comprise 180.degree.-hybrid 20 for combining the TE.sub.10 modes in the coupling waveguides in phase and for generating one or more error signals at different frequencies.
