  • Publication number: 20070262590
Abstract: A simplified oven door lock reduces the number of components subjected to fatigue from repeated tensile movement. The oven door lock includes a mounting plate, an actuator having an output shaft and the actuator being coupled to the mounting plate, a cam having a mounting hub at its center and an offset hub displaced from the mounting hub, the mounting hub of the cam being coupled to the output shaft actuator so the actuator rotates the cam with respect to the mounting plate, a lock pin extending upwardly at a first position from the mounting plate, an unlock pin extending upwardly at a second position from the mounting plate, a latch mounted to the offset hub of the cam so the latch extends between the lock pin and the unlock pin so that opposing sides of the latch plate slide against the lock pin and the unlock pin as the latch moves in response to the actuator rotating the cam.

  • Publication number: 20060232077
Abstract: An oven lock mechanism has a latch that is moved between an unlatched and a latched position and a blocker that blocks the latch in the latched position when a cleaning cycle is initiated. The latch is mounted for movement relative to the blocker to facilitate disengaging the latch from the blocker.

  • Publication number: 20050284464
Abstract: An oven lock mechanism is disclosed having a latch mechanism driven by a motor between a latched position wherein the oven door is held in a closed position and an unlatched position wherein the oven door freely opens and closes. The motor is controlled by a switch that enables rotation of the motor when in a first state and prevents rotation of the motor when in a second state. A switch actuator mechanism places the switch in the first state when the door is closed and in the second state when the door is open. The switch is mounted at the rear of the oven away from the front opening of the oven compartment.

  • Publication number: 20050284465
Abstract: A motorized door lock assembly for locking an oven door mounted on a range body in a closed position so as to close an oven compartment for purposes of cleaning the oven compartment is provided. The door lock assembly comprises a latch, a motor, a rotor arm and a linkage. The latch has a hook at one end for engaging the oven door and is mounted to the range body for rotation about a translatable pivot axis between an unlatched position wherein the hook does not inhibit movement of the oven door and a latched position wherein the hook does inhibit movement of the oven door. The latch is also mounted for reciprocal translation with the pivot axis between a non-pulled-in position wherein the latch does not pull against the oven door and a pulled-in position wherein the latch pulls against the oven door. The rotor arm is rotatably driven by the motor.

  • Publication number: 20050121919
Abstract: An oven lock mechanism has a latch that is moved between an unlatched and a latched position in response to movement of the door from an open to a closed position and a motor that turns a cam acting as a blocker to block the latch in the latched position when a cleaning cycle is initiated. The rotation of the cam also induces movement of the latch to cause the latch to pull the door in closer to the frame of the oven.
