  • Patent number: 5164708
Abstract: The invention is an improved level indicating and elevation indicating system using a hose containing fluid having a first and a second end, capable of being operated by a single person. An electronic method is used to indicate when a float at the first end of the hose is at, above, or below a reference. In the preferred embodiment, such indications are communicated through wires to three distinct lights at the second end of the hose, and a sight is used to determine accurately the position of a float at the second end. The preferred embodiment also includes a sleeve supporting the first end of the hose and a support for the sleeve. Also included are a vertical fixed rod for supporting the second end of the hose, a base for holding the fixed rod in virtually any position, and an adjustable rod (parallel to the fixed rod) for determining vertical offset distances. A pinching device, for slightly varying the volume of the hose, is also part of the preferred embodiment.

  • Patent number: 5111188
Abstract: The invention is an electronic sensor for producing an indication of fluid level in a hose or tube and an electronic indicating circuit that uses the sensor's indication of fluid level for asserting one of three indicators depending upon whether the fluid level is above a reference by a small distance, within the small distance of the reference, or below the reference by the small distance. A float retaining a core having a relative magnetic permeability significantly greater than one is supported by fluid near three vertically disposed coils. The center coil is excited by a source of alternating current and the position of the core above or below the center coil determines the voltages present in the top and bottom coil. The voltages present in the top and bottom coils are rectified and added in polarity opposition to produce an indication of fluid level. A plurality of voltage comparators, supplied by the indication of fluid level and fixed voltages, are used to assert the appropriate indicator.

  • Patent number: 4231163
Abstract: A pair of upright stands are provided and include enlarged bases by which the stands may be supported on variously elevated support surfaces. Each stand has a vertically elongated support mounted thereon for adjustable vertical positioning therealong and each stand has a scale thereon by which the positioning of the support therealong may be precisely determined and adjusted as desired. Each support includes an upstanding transparent tube section and the lower ends of the tube sections are connected by an elongated flexible connecting tube member including an expandable and contractable reservoir.
