  • Patent number: 4354287
Abstract: A bed frame having generally parallel side rails which can be laterally adjusted to fit standardized twin, full and queen size beds with each side rail including an inwardly extending end plate with each end plate being provided with an engager in the form of a hook plate having a pair of hooks along one vertical edge thereof for orientation in an upwardly opening position or a downwardly opening position to hook under the pins in the headboard to lift the headboard off the floor or to hook over the pins so that heavier headboards can rest on the floor. Each engager is provided with a vertical slot spaced from the hooks and the opposite vertical edge of the plate for receiving the end plate on the side rail to enable lateral adjustment of the engager in relation to the end plate and reversibility of the engager so that the hooks face upwardly or downwardly.

  • Patent number: 4193146
Abstract: A bracket for mounting a bunk bed ladder from the bed rail of an upper bunk bed which engages both the top and inner bottom edge of the bed rail to prevent the bunk bed ladder from being accidentally lifted off and disengaged from the bed rail, to prevent the ladder from shifting along the bed rail, to reduce twisting of the rail and strain on the post or leg of the bunk bed, thereby reducing failure of bed rails, bed posts, and the ladders, and to prevent the ladder from tilting outward while climbing.

  • Patent number: 4146940
Abstract: Bed rails of the type disclosed in prior U.S. Pat. Nos. 3,118,151, issued Jan. 21, 1964, and Re. 27,182, issued Sept. 21, 1971, in which inwardly extending horizontal flanges underlie and form the sole support for a spring assembly with the flanges being interconnected by a tension member at the central portions of the rails to prevent outward deflection thereof for maintaining the horizontal flanges in underlying relation to the spring assembly.

  • Patent number: 4080674
Abstract: A pair of longitudinally extending bed rails having a center cross bar interconnecting the rails with a depending supporting leg adjacent each end of the cross bar for providing support adjacent the center of the bed rails. The bed rails include a vertical flange and a horizontal flange with the horizontal flange extending under and forming a support for a substantial length of the bedding assembly, such as the box spring, with the cross bar pulling the rails inwardly into contact with the sides of the box spring. The cross rails are provided with a tongue and slot connection with the horizontal flanges of the side rails to enable assembly and disassembly of the cross bar in relation to the side rails.
