  • Patent number: 4949450
Abstract: An insulated blind rivet mounting arrangement in an aperture in a wall including a blind rivet having a tubular rivet member and a actuating rod that is disposed within the tubular member and is adapted for axial withdrawal therefrom; an insulating sheath made of non-electrically conductive material positioned over said tubular rivet member; and said blind rivet actuating rod being removable from said tubular rivet member for expanding the tubular rivet member and insulating sheath into tight interfitting relation with each other within the wall aperture. Alternative embodiments are disclosed in which one or more coaxially disposed tubular flanged members are utilized to complete the mounting, with the insulating sheath being effective to thermally and electrically insulate the tubular rivet member. The insulating sheath, which preferably is made of a resilient plastic material, also is effective for creating a substantially vibration-free mounting within the wall aperture.

  • Patent number: 4764312
Abstract: A hospital room humidification system operated from an outside source of pressurized oxygen and/or other gas for increasing the humidity of the ambient air in the room. The humidification system includes a collapsible bag for containing a quantity of water in a condition sealed from the environment of the room, an atomizing nozzle formed with separate liquid and gas passageways, a first adapter for coupling the atomizing nozzle to the water containing bag, and a second adapter for selectively coupling the atomizing nozzle to the outside pressurized gas source. The atomizing nozzle is operable for causing the pressurized gas flow discharging from the air passageway to break the flow of liquid discharging from the liquid passageway into fine liquid particles and to directly dispense such particles into the air of the room in the form of a mist and in a manner which significantly increases the humidity of the ambient air in the room.

  • Patent number: 4294283
Abstract: A damper assembly comprising, in combination, a generally rectangular frame including side, top and bottom members, a plurality of damper blades supported at opposite ends on the side members of the frame for limited rotative movement about axes extending longitudinally and substantially centrally of the blades, each of said blades comprising a resilient sealing strip along at least one edge of said blade, and the ends of the blades being angled in opposite directions above and below the rotative axis of the blades, and cooperating with resilient side sealing strips in the frame, the ends of the blades wedging against the sealing strips as the blades approach closed position, the blades being held in closed position by the wedging action.
