  • Patent number: 4726674
Abstract: A photographic device which has a film magazine which feeds photographic film over an aperture plate has apparatus for accurately registering the center of an image frame relative to the center of the transport perforations of the film. A relatively slow moving motor drives a film take-up reel to feed film over guide sprockets to move the film one frame into close proximity with the registration position. The motor is thereafter stopped and a platen having accurately disposed truncated pyramid shaped pins directed toward the film is forced toward the film with the pins entering perforations in the film and recesses in the aperture plate. The pins act to move the film minute amounts as required as they enter the perforations to correct the position of the film to precise registration. After the frame is exposed signals are supplied to remove the platen from the film engaging position and actuate the motor for the subsequent cycle.

  • Patent number: 4577947
Abstract: A film magazine for cameras which may be loaded with a long roll of film on the supply spool and which may wind the film into shorter length units into a cassette or the like on the take-up spool when desired for removal of the cassette from the magazine without exposing the film remaining on the supply spool. The magazine includes a container in which the supply spool and take-up spool is mounted and a second housing is fastened in the container and disposed about the take-up spool. A light trap in the second housing permits film to travel in the path from the supply spool to the take-up spool. A cover closes the container against the admission of light while film is disposed therein, and the cover has a port providing access into the second housing. A closure member may be selectively disposed within the port and may be secured to the housing to close the take-up spool from admission of light and to permit removal of the take-up spool without removing the cover.

  • Patent number: 4558922
Abstract: An image forming screen for optical systems has a Fresnel plastic lens having a replica of a ground glass surface on the surface opposite to that of the rings. The image surface is coated with a thin layer of optically clear epoxy material increasing the brightness of images formed on the screen.

  • Patent number: 4339188
Abstract: A twin lens reflex camera has a viewing system including a ground glass screen having the viewing surface coated with a thin layer of a clear optical grade epoxy and has the coated surface mounted behind and in contact with a Fresnel lens. A pair of magnifying lenses are positioned behind the ground glass screen in front of the viewing station. The coating is applied while in solution with solvents that thereafter evaporate. A final thickness of approximately 0.0001 inch is obtained by further processing. An improvement of received image brightness of approximately 8 to 25 fold uniformly over the image screen has been measured. The magnifying lenses are adjustably mounted within the interior of the viewer to improve eye relief. A flexible hood readily adjustable on the viewer housing cooperates with adjustable flaps secured to the viewer housing to provide good contrast to the image formed on the screen.
